Key accountabilities: Identify, plan, manage, and quality control of various subsurface studies such as SCAL, routine and advance PVT, flow assurance.
Simulation/Analysis software: Reservoir simulation CMG, Eclipse, Petret, Intersect, and. Petrophysical analysis Schlumberger-Techlog and Emerson-Paradigm Geolog.
- Control and monitor International Petroleum Engineering services aligned with the strategy, policy, guideline and industry standards in order to support the achievement of Medco production target and improve asset recovery optimally and in a cost effective manner
- Set standard for petroleum engineering based on stakeholders’ expectation and overall business needs and responsible for consolidating and optimizing all petroleum engineering works and resources throughout Medco E & P International
- Control and QA QC reservoir studies and modeling, reservoir management, development strategy/scenarios to improve asset recovery accurately, timely and in a cost effective manner.
- Plan, develop and implement petroleum engineering programs/studies and enhancement technology for evaluating hydrocarbon potential in international asset within the approved budget in order to maximize oil and gas recovery of the discovered hydrocarbon reserves and production effectively and efficiently.
- Study and control Production engineering studies and production optimization with cost expenditure proposals which could lead to optimization of production and expenditure in safely operations manner.
- Provide technical leadership & technical support in the evaluation of exploration opportunities.
- Lead the technical tendering and award process for third party technical advisors. Prepare the technical scopes of work tendered.
- Provide Petroleum Engineering quality assurance, technical assistance/input for reservoir and production engineers in performing reservoir and well engineering studies and outcomes to ensure that studies are conducted appropriately in a cost - effective manner.
- Provide guidance to petrophysics team in providing petrophysics services to the Company’s operating assets/ projects as per work request.
- Plan, supervise, and coordinate evaluation and analysis of petrophysical data necessary for Geologist, Development Engineer, Reservoir in order to predict the presence of hydrocarbons in wells for calculations of oil and gas reserves and for reservoir studies.
- Mentor petrophysicists and geoscientists with less experience.
- Identifies, develops and implements training in Petrophysics for subsurface group.
- Works effectively with reservoir, petroleum, drilling engineers and rig personnel.
- Identifies, designs and implements field studies, which will facilitate future field development.
- Interfaces with COMPANY technical management to identify, develop and implement joint technical initiatives.
- Participates in well planning and assists with development of pre-drill documentation packages (i.e. designs and provides logging program, identifies potential logging hazards, etc.).
- Performs quick look formation evaluation methods in support of real-time decision making and provides input for selection of perforation and testing intervals.
- Uses workstation based Petrophysical models to provide fully integrated field-study quality interpretations in support of geologic and reservoir modeling used in field development planning.
- Performs operations activities during drilling (i.e. pre-logging job planning with petrophysical contractors on rig(s), training and monitoring of petrophysical personnel, interface with other Geoscience, Engineering, and Drilling personnel).
- Provides operational and technical support for openhole and casedhole logging operations including acquisition planning, QC, and analysis of all logs acquired by COMPANY and assigned asset.
- Contributes to the enhancement of existing and future petrophysical analysis models.
- Makes recommendations regarding Routine (RCA) and Special Core Analysis (SCAL) work to be done for measurement of petrophysical parameters. Designs and supervises core analysis lab measurements in collaboration with other concerned staff.
- Provides input to support development of reservoir surveillance strategies including design of baseline logging programs.
- Designs and supports implementation of written input for post-drill well reports.
- Develops scope of work for tendering of petrophysical services and analyzes tenders.
- Monitors petrophysical contractors and administers contractors Quality Assurance Plan.
- Expertise in using Petrophysical interpretations software such as GEOLOG-7, PETROLOG, TECHLOG, POWER LOG 2.8 AND 3.2, etc.
- Perform rock physics diagnostics and modeling.
- Experience in shaley-sand and carbonate environments.
- Working extensively in fractured reservoir analysis and shale gas
analysis
- Transforms resistivity, gamma ray and porosity measurements into
reservoir properties.
- Identify rock properties necessary to construct a model of the
subsurface (Rock Physics Modeling)
- Combines well log, core, mudlog, and other disparate data sources
for the purpose of evaluating, predicting and establishing formation
lithology and porosity, permeability, hydrocarbon saturation,
producibility and estimating the economic viability of a well.
- Focuses on a production zone of interest and seek to edit, normalize
and interpret the logs, creating a model that honors all available
data.
- Typical objectives include:
- Quality control of the measured elastic logs for rock
physics modeling
- Synthesis of elastic log
- Correcting logs for invasion effects and dispersion
- Quick look analysis and Petrophysical interpretation and
Quality control of the interpretation results
- Establishing a framework for interpretation of seismically derived
elastic properties
- Experience using both PC and workstation based petrophysical
software and ability to conduct calculation manually (Geolog,
PowerLog, Petrolog)
- To review/acquire LWD data before delivering and to assure
clients to receive the fit purpose log. This entails pre-job well
planning, job support, and responsibility for final log produced
with interactions between operation and client.
- Be responsible for approval of FE-MWD log and off well report
- To communicate with clients for specific data issues includes: supervising
EWL operation and perform quick look analysis
- To improve client awareness on application in specific area on
BHI INTEQ technology i.e. Geosteering in Ultra Slim Multilateral.
In this Geosteering project for Total Indonesie, we look on
structural analysis on the specific well and propose to client a
new drain trajectory. We consider structural formation i.e. fault,
reservoir layer etc. for this project, including image log.
- To support LWD services internally and externally with clients
and to validate the products to client using Petrophysical method
- To advise District Manager on evaluation issues.
- To construct field development plans to optimize reservoir
production
- To support Wireline data acquisition. This involves close contact
with clients (Qatar Petroleum/QP, Occidental, Maersk, Ras-Gas,
Qatar-Gas, etc.) to ensure timely delivery product to the clients.
The responsibility includes:
- Planning and interpreting data acquitted by Wireline
Formation Testers (MDT) and other pressure transient
data. The interpretation of single well dynamic data will
generate the following deliverables: formation pressure,
permeability and gradients in order to characterize the
near wellbore reservoir.
- Planning and interpreting data acquitted by Wireline
Production Logging Tools. The interpretation of single
well dynamic data (Vertical and Horizontal wells) will
generate the following deliverables: flow profile to
identify the entry of water or gas (if any) in oil well to
optimize well production.
- Planning and interpreting data acquitted by Wireline Logging includes:
proposing and supervising coring and hydrocarbon sampling operation and
interpretation.
- To work as a Consultant on long-term field studies and
risk assessments for reservoir optimization studies.
- Familiar with reservoir software such as:
- Eclipse for reservoir simulation
- Modular Dynamic Tester tool planner for well testing
- MDT Packer Probe software for well testing
- Zodiac for well testing
- Emeraude for production logging.
- To develop multi-phase numerical simulator (in C++) for studying trap
integrity in secondary gas migration. The conceptual model were
developed to describe the interactions between the minimum horizontal
stress, pore pressure, and fracture permeability. The model is then coupled
with a three-dimensional multi-phase numerical flow model to evaluate gas
cap within the reservoir formation underlying fractured cap rock
- To develop multi-phase numerical simulator (in Fortran77) to
model water-drive gas reservoir using dynamic conventional grid
refinement technique
