AMRIL is a major player in mining and infrastructure sectors having its headquarters in Hyderabad. Having an annual turnover in excess of Rs. 1, 800 Crore, the company has aggressive growth plans in the infrastructure sector in India. Presently, I am associated with AMRIL as ‘Head - Finance & Accounts’ with the following job profile and key responsibilities:

Job Profile

• Support the strategic and operational decisions of the company to achieve overall business targets as well as meet financial accounting and reporting deadlines.
• Financial analysis, cost identification/ allocation, and revenue/expense analysis
• Prepare annual business plan and do budgetary planning
• Manage business review meetings on annual business plan, periodic forecasts and monthly state of actual performance
• Finalize annual financial statements and liaise statutory audit and internal audits
• Prepare periodical cash forecasts for cash planning
• Drafting / vetting of the legal agreements with the clients and consultants
• Analyze business operations with a view to strengthening internal controls and procedures in the company
• Manage team members on a day to day basis and also develop new delivery capability in each member
• Staffing of resources within the finance team.

DLF Services Limited is a group company of DLF Ltd. and provides ‘facilities management services’ in its commercial properties in Gurgaon, Delhi and Noida. The job profile included finalizing accounts of the company’s ‘Offices Business Unit’, generation of MIS reports- highlighting major factors having significant impact on costs and revenues and advising the management on taking effective measures aiming at the twin objectives of cost minimization and increase in customer satisfaction levels by means of further value addition in the services provided by the company.

Job Profile
• Reported to the company’s CFO for Accounts finalization and liaison with statutory and internal auditors;
• Preparation of budgets and cost reports relating to the maintenance of 25 buildings under the company’s ‘offices business unit’, analysis of expenditure in relation to budgets and other critical parameters, analysis of MIS reports relating to Inventory, Customers dues, Creditors outstanding, etc.;
• Liaison with customers for their queries on final rates charged in respect of common area maintenance and other services provided;
• Orientation and guidance to the accounting team comprising of 12 persons ensuring coordinated efforts towards the end objectives of MIS generation, cost control and accounts finalization on time.

The company is one of the largest engineering & construction companies in India providing integrated design, engineering, procurement, construction and project management services for energy industry and infrastructure sector projects.

Job Profile
• Preparation of budgets, project cost reports, analytical reports on expenditure in relation to budgets, reconciliation of cost as per cost statements and financial records, cash flow from projects and other MIS reports relating to Inventory, Debtors, etc.
• Accounts finalization, liaison with statutory auditors and submission of income tax returns in respect of its two overseas operations in Qatar and Abu-Dhabi;
• Internal audit function covering internal control and processes present in the company, project monitoring and control system, risk management, etc.; In charge- Accounts Payable function on ERP based \{Oracle 11(i)\} system of accounting.

The company is a leading multinational construction company having strategic business divisions for marine, industrial & bridges and specialized engineering projects. The company has a multi-location organization structure and my responsibilities included consolidation of accounts of the company’s 23 project sites in the entire north zone, internal audit and MIS during my tenure with the company.

Reported to the Director (Finance) and the CMD (for internal audit function) at the company’s head office in Mumbai.
