Manage Variation/Change Orders
Project: Upgrading of Al Salam Street and Abu Dhabi City Ring Road - CAD 1.268 B
Reporting to the General Manager, and responsible for all aspects of operations in its ongoing contracts and other anticipated works.
Budget submissions, tendering and bidding, project evaluation and cost analysis, subcontracting issues, etc (using FIDIC).
Evaluate submitted estimates for change orders/variation orders/additional works etc. (evaluation of material take-off and costing) and submit / recommend to client for approval for payment )also final payment.

Multi-tasking works - Sets-in with estimating team during project tenders. Provides take-off to assist the estimation team; negotiate suppliers/subcontractors for pricing. Also, prepare estimates on items subject for variation orders.

Coordinate with Tokyo design team and Singapore technical (QS/Estimators - estimates cross checking) team and with the rest of the disciplines; e.g. mechanical and the electrical teams.
Prepare estimation (take-off, costing, construction schedules, sub-contractors called calls) starting from the project’s concept design up to the final design for construction.
Negotiate with suppliers, contractors/subcontractors and clients.
Ensure all working documents and data are maintained to back-up estimate quantity and unit costs. Assist contracts department during the preparation of inquiries and final evaluation of submitted bids.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Monitor and Cost Controller for each project handled.
- Monitor Subcontractors of each projects.
- Evaluation of structural design and computations for all infrastructures projects under the jurisdiction of the regional office, submitted by local contractors and district offices.
- Evaluation and preparation of program of works for projects under its jurisdiction. Evaluation of accomplishment reports, submitted by local contractors and district offices.
- QA/QC Inspector for the strict implementation of the approved plans and specifications (using the blue book) for all projects under the regional office. Perform ocular structural inspections on all government projects under the regional office. The region comprises 6 major islands and other smaller ones. Advice subcontractors for all QA/QC control points and requirements. QA/QC approving official prior to proceeding to any item of works.
- Drafts, designs (structural), estimates highways (including provincial/city roads) and bridges.”
