Provide solutions for enquiries ranging from new building such as jack-up liftboats, vessel conversions, vessel retrofits such as BWTs, Exhaust gas scrubbers, upgrades of power generation and distribution systems, retrofits of jack-up rigs & offshore structures and electrical panels upgrade.
In house engineering such as design plan, generation of technical specifications, load listing and load analysis, single line diagrams, cable & equipment sizing, illumination calculations and lighting arrangements, control & communication system schematics, termination connection drawings, equipment arrangement drawings, as built drawings etc. for new build vessels & retrofit / upgrade of ships and offshore structures.
Survey of jack-up rigs for evaluating scope of refurbishment work and prepare pre-bid survey reports
Provide technical proposals to clients and prepare responses for bidding queries
Coordination & liaison with internal & external customers such as owners, sub-contractors, vendors & class.
Preparing Estimated MTO at the beginning of project and updating based on drawing generations.
Preparing technical specifications / RFQs for procurement of electrical equipment & systems, Evaluating of technical offers from OEM’s and participating in technical negotiations
Internal Quality Control ambassador - Ensuring requirements of ISO 9001:2015 and API Spec Q1 are followed in design & development, monitoring KPIs of department
In charge of electrical design package for 03 x Multi purpose Ro-Ro Cargo ships, 01 x heavy lift ship and 07 x interceptor boats.
Electrical design package included but not limited to 3-D modeling in Tribon / Cadmatic, single line diagrams, class approved drawings, Bill of materials, technical purchase specification / RFQs, schematic & connection diagrams, cable schedule, equipment schedule, load schedule, instrument schedule, load analysis, voltage drop calculations, battery & inverter sizing, equipment & cable sizing, Generator and transformer sizing, illumination calculations, cause & effect matrix, I/O list, cable tray & MCT sizing, cable tray routing, cable pulling sequence drawings, Equipment and lighting arrangement, testing & commissioning procedures, spares list, as built drawings etc.
Electrical systems included various on-board systems such as power generation & distribution systems, switchboards, thruster, propulsion control and steering gear systems, automation systems, power management, fire and gas detection, public address, internal communication systems, navigation & GMDSS, Emergency shutdown, entertainment etc.
All drawings / documentation strictly followed design development process as per ISO 9001:2004.
Engineering package also included review of technical proposals from vendors, technical bid analysis, liaise with vendors during equipment development phase, production support for ease of implementation, incorporating feedback from production / QC / Client / Class during construction phase of project, interacting with class and client for drawing approvals and seeking exemptions, support to commissioning activities, resolution of warranty claims, site surveys, monitoring design development, planning design schedules, streamlining procedures / processes to facilitate smooth production, standardization of cables, equipment and drawings, monitoring of KPIs, preparing checklists for designers etc.
In addition, provide technical support to various enquiry projects in terms of estimated MTOs, operational philosophies, write-ups etc.
