Successfully designed and implemented solutions using MS Dynamics NAV ERP which made me very strong in functional and technical areas of this ERP. Also contributing to the company by saving millions in ERP customisation and implementation costs by single-handedly maintaining three Dynamics NAV databases which hosts around 9 active companies.
My strong areas are financial management, fixed assets management, sales & marketing, collections/receivables, purchases and payments, post dated cheques and dis-honoured (returned) cheques management, trading operations (buying and selling) and supply chain management. Was able to interconnect around 21 remote locations spread across Sri Lanka to make sure the remote staff also work on a common database.
Currently developing business analytics solutions using QlikView for the company.
With a help of a single C# developer, successfully designed and implemented a front end to each Dynamics NAV installation to enable web based BI for top management and mobile staff.
Successfully integrated an SMS gateway into Dynamics Nav and other custom built applications to provide a live update on the transactions such as stock out situation, cheque returns, etc as and when they happened. The system also covered a fully automated solution to get the selected information just by sending an SMS anytime.
Over all in charge of the IT operations of the company.
* Teaching of computer applications and programming for undergraduates, graduates, academic and non-academic administrative staff.
* Conducting special workshops on using computer applications to staff and to the public.
* Experience in Teaching Windows 98/2000/XP, Microsoft Office XP Suite, Java, Visual Basic, Crystal Reports, Clipper, Internet and Email applications and Technologies.
* Apart from teaching of computer applications, I designed and administering the Windows 2000 network (more than 250 PCs with three child domains) of the Faculty of Management & Finance. Also installed and maintaining ISA Sever (proxy), IIS 5.0 (web) and MDaemon (Email) servers to provide internet and email facility at Faculty.
* Represented the Faculty at top level University Network Steering Committee
* Active Member of the IT Committee of the Faculty.
