• Supervise, control and ensure all chemical plant maintenance and laboratory activities are accomplished in accordance with authorized plans, procedures, schedules, cost budgeted and quality standards.
• Maintain up to date knowledge of the plant running condition and chemical dosing.
• Prepare daily & Weekly and monthly reports for all chemical areas
• Maintain appropriate record of chemical plant activities.
• Maintain the plant chemistry as designed and standers
• Carry out the trouble shooting of various chemical areas
• Observe and guide the implementation of work safety procedure and practice.
• Direct the implementation of established maintenance schedules and procedures to ensure effective chemical plant operation.
• Establish and initiate the annual and preventive maintenance of chemical plant.
• Review and recommend new plans, procedures and schedule for chemical plants, acid cleaning, boil out and laboratory etc.
• Preservation of various systems as HRSG boilers, RO membranes, ion exchange resin as per design and standards.
• Prepare reports and appropriate recommendation to superior, to help evaluate progress and take appropriate action.
• Supervise, direct and coordinate the activities of all Engineers and other personnel assigned to Chemical Section.
• Ensure availability of bulk chemicals, fine chemicals, glassware and other consumables and to raise Purchase Requisitions as and when required.
• Ensure availability of MSDS for chemicals
• Ensure calibration of identified critical equipment in the lab
• Conduct frequent measurement of water quality in the lab and report deviations, if identified
• Monitor and report stack emission
• Ensure availability of suitable PPE, eyewash facility, first aid measures in the chemical handling area
• Ensure proper waste disposal measures
• Perform other duties as assigned

• Detail study of various abnormalities for fault detection.
• Perform regular plant visit to review current performance of the water chemistry of feed water, Boiler water, steam water and DM water makeup chemistry and monitor on-line instrumentation on the sample panel is working properly or not.
• Ensure environmental records are maintained up to date.
• Calibration of all laboratory equipment.
