Managing through a team of 30 Petrofac personnel the fabrication and construction of 33 process modules at Larsen & Tubro Modular Fabrication Yard in Sohar, Oman.
UZ750 Project EPC1 - Client: Zakum Development Company (ZADCO)
Responsible for the on-island construction works on 4 artificial islands.
Integrate team efforts to resolve engineering and construction engineering problems expeditiously to meet specified targets. Ensure all complicated modularized equipment installation plans and procedures are reviewed and closed on time by all disciplines and stakeholders. Ensure all systems are mechanically completed and seamlessly handed over to Commissioning / Operations.
Works involve Civil / Mechanical / Electrical / Instrumentation installation and commissioning work for EPC1 phase. EPC1 is the contract awarded to NPCC / Technip consortium for affecting Initial Production (IP) from the first number of drilled wells on the-islands.

Shah Gas Development (SGD) Project - Client: Al Hosn Gas
Delegated to and representing Al Hosn Gas as part of the PMC team.
Responsible for all construction works and deputizing the PMC Project Manager.
Ensure all Contractor construction engineering deliverables and construction works are delivered and carried out as planned. Resolve all construction issues expeditiously. Ensure all works are carried out safely and to the requisite quality in full compliance with Company specifications.
Products Pipelines comprising a 127km 36" Gas Pipeline from Shah to Habshan, a 66km 16" NGL Pipeline and a 66km 16" Condensate Pipeline inclusive of:
• Six Gas Actuated Mainline Block Valve (MLBV) sites with solar power and Remote Instrument Enclosures.
• A common launcher station at the Shah gas plant complete with substation for electrical distribution inclusive of transformers, switchgear, AC/DC UPS and HVAC.
• Hot Tap of 36” on 42” Gas line and Hot Tap of 16” on 18” Condensate line at Asab Tie-in.
• Leak detection systems for pipelines
ASAB Full Field Development (FFD) Project - Client: Abu Dhabi Company for Onshore Oil Operations (ADCO)
Delegated to and representing ADCO as part of the PMC team.
Reporting to the ADCO CM; responsible for all brownfield construction works being carried out by the EPC Contractor (Petrofac International Ltd.) The project scope include additional wells, flow lines, transfer lines, replacement and modification of existing facilities (Remote Degassing Stations) and building new surface facilities (Central Degassing Station).
Project value: 2.45 billion $US

Ras Tanura Refinery - Diesel Hydrotreater (DHT) Project. Client: Saudi Aramco
Comprising the construction of a Diesel Hydrotreater Facility (105, 000 BPD), Sulfur Recovery Unit Facility (200 TPD), Off-site flare stack and piping and various in-plant additions, modifications and tie-ins (120 million $US).
Preparation of the Project and Construction Execution Plans and Project Schedule. Manage, supervise and coach the Project Delivery Team in detailed engineering, procurement and construction. Evaluate and award subcontractors for the supply of services, bulk materials and equipment resources.

Common Sulphur Project (400 million $US), Ras Laffan, Qatar. Client: Qatar Gas II.
Joint Venture Partner: Washington Group International.
EPC of a 12, 000 TPD Molten Sulphur Collection and Handling Facility. Includes 42km of heat traced and insulated pipelines, granulators, stacker-reclaimer units, ship loaders etc.
Review and provide input to the PEP. Prepare the Construction Execution Plan and the Construction Schedule. Work closely with engineering manager to resolve construction engineering issues.

Taweelah Gas Receiving Facilities - Abu Dhabi, UAE. Client: Dolphin Energy Limited
The project was awarded toTechnip (Abu Dhabi) & Al Jaber Energy Services Consortium and comprised the engineering, procurement and construction works for the onshore gas receiving facility at Taweelah for Dolphin Energy’s gas export pipeline from Qatar to the UAE. Includes:
• 10 Kilometer 48” extension pipeline from Facility to Gasco’ pipeline tie-in point and 750 m 36” off-take pipeline from Facility to existing Taweelah Gas Receipt Station.
• 48” Hot Tap on 48” gas pipeline at tie-in.
• 36” Hot Tap on 36” gas piping tie-in point at existing facility.
• Heaters (3x), Launchers / Receivers, Control Room Building.
Weir Techna (Middle East), part of the Weir Group www.weir.co.uk is a multinational company engaged in the water treatment business.
Monitor and direct the construction of a Sulphate Removal Package (SRP) module of 800 ton Gross Weight, sized for 250K BWPD for the Buzzard Field development in the North Sea for Nexen Inc.
30% owned by Consolidated Contractors Co. (CCC), NPCC provides EPC and Offshore Installation services in the development of offshore and onshore oil, gas and petrochemical fields.
EPCI of offshore Jacket (BH-N09), Topside and related pipelines for Qatar Petroleum Co.
Responsible for overall activities within the PMT to ensure engineering, procurement and construction project goals and relevant client specifications are met on the project.

§ Design, fabrication and supply of 79 pressure vessels of various sizes and thickness to Snamprogetti for the Dukhan Gas lift Project in Qatar for Qatar Petroleum.
§ Fabrication and supply of (4200 tons - includes site construction) structural steel and platework for Amreya Cement factory in Egypt; (3, 000 tons) for Krupp Uhde’s Qafco-4 expansion project for Qatar Fertilizer Co.; (5500 tons) for Algeria Cement Company; (3200 tons - includes site construction) for the new Fayed military airbase under the auspices of the US Army Corps of Engineers; (1400 tons) for Qatar Petroleum on the Ras Laffan Common Cooling Water project.
§Fabrication and site erection of mechanical bridges for 12 clarifier tanks for the sewage treatment plant in Gabal al-Asfar, Cairo, for Degremont Co.

MIS provides engineering, procurement, fabrication, construction as well as drilling rigs / marine vessel repair and modification services to the Oil and Gas, petrochemical, power generation, marine and heavy industries in the Middle East.

§ Pursued and successfully secured several contracts in Oman for Weir Westgarth Co. (total value $3.4 million) for the supply of large diameter carbon steel, CuNi clad steel, S.S. and Duplex S.S. piping for the Ghubrah power plant in Oman.
§ Managed a pioneer project which included design, procurement and fabrication of a 10, 000 psi design pressure wellhead sand-catcher pressure vessel (four additional vessels subsequently ordered). Materials Cr-Mo steel.
§ Successfully secured additional orders of $1.65 million for high-pressure wellhead filter vessels.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Responsible to the Vice President of Projects and Engineering for management of various projects with an emphasis on specialized pressure vessels, marine works, Single Point Mooring systems and packaging of process skids.
• Managed detailed engineering, procurement, planning, cost control, fabrication and construction activities including claims and closeout.
KEY ACHIEVEMENTS:
Successfully managed the following projects:
• Construction of two (ABS Classed - A1 Gas Carrier) marine vessels for the transportation of Liquefied Ammonia Gas (LAG).
• Fabrication and structural steel conversion of a Marine Cargo Vessel of 1410 tons lightship weight into a four-legged jack-up support and accommodation rig of 4400 tons lightship weight. Client: Mansal Offshore W.L.L.
• Supply of a ready-built Gas Train for Petroleum Development Oman (PDO), which included a Hydrocarbon Dewpointing and H2S removal skid units. Client: Stork Engineers & Contractors.
• Supply of Pressure Vessels to Petrofac for Total Yemen; Gas Scrubbers to National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC); Deethanizer Vessels to Saudi Aramco, etc.
• The supply of various Chemical Injection Skids for McDermott, several vessels and process skids to Petrofac for Bangladesh Gas Fields Company, Desalters for Occidental of Oman etc.
1993 - 1995 Operations Engineer, Sharjah
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
§ Supervision of yard operations (600-800 workforce) and workshop production engineers (4-8).
§ Pressure vessel mechanical design review.
§ Cost estimation as well as project management of SPM buoys manufacture / overhaul.
§ Develop fabrication procedures / standards.
§ Scheduling, planning and work packages review and preparation for production.
KEY ACHIEVEMENTS:
§ Held the position of Project Manager on several projects including the offshore disassembly, modification, refurbishment, overhaul and offshore reinstatement of an SPM system for RAKGAS in Ras Al Khaimah. The project involved the retrieval of the buoy, subsea hoses and PLEM. The manufacture of new PLEM, procurement of subsea hoses, fenders and turntable equipment (including PDU bearings and seal rings).
§ Introduced twin arc submerged arc welding process, GMAW welding processes for S.S. and Aluminum and expanded on the FCAW process units extensively to improve welding productivity.
As Head of the QA/QC division, was responsible for all quality related matters, welding engineering and fabrication procedures. Additionally was responsible for the mechanical design of pressure vessels and supervision of related project activities, process skids, and client coordination as well as cost estimation of special projects, and technical troubleshooting.
KEY ACHIEVEMENTS:
Held the lead role, directed and coordinated the acquisition by MIS of the ASME / National Board Certifications for the manufacture, repair, alteration, and stamping of pressure vessels and power piping (U, U2, PP and R) stamps.
Supervised the manufacture and complete assembly, including third party certification by Lloyds Register of Shipping, of a SPM buoy for Crescent Petroleum Company.
Supervised and coordinated works for several oilfield-related projects including support fabrication (PLEMs, gravity anchors for a 42” subsea pipeline) and services (Chain handling and linking, floating and subsea hose inspection, assembly, testing and launching) for SMIT TAK’s C.A.L.M. installations in Iran.
Assigned as the project engineer during the construction and complete outfitting of an 80-man offshore living quarters module that included a helideck for Dubai Gas Co. (DUGAS).
