Project Overview: Project sum HK$141.5 billion
• Reclamation of approximately 650 hectares of land at north of existing runway by non-dredging methods including deep cement mixing.
• Building Third Runway Passenger Terminal Building with more than 280, 000 square meters of floor area, a total of 57 new parking positions and aprons.
• Building a 3, 800m long new runway and supporting taxiways with existing north runway to be reconfigured.
• Building a new 2800m long Automated People Mover System (APM tunnel) at 80km per hour speed to transfer passengers from third runway passenger building to T2.
• Building a high speed Baggage Handling System.
• Expansion of existing T2.
• Construction of other associated airport support infrastructure i.e. roads network and transportation facilities etc.
Expansion & upgrading of Velana International Airport, Maldives i.e. construction of new runway, taxiway, aprons, cargo terminal, fuel farm and a completely new Passenger Terminal.
Responsibilities: Working as Project Management Consultant, responsible for Quality Assurance/Quality Control of all disciplines i.e. runway construction, taxiway, aprons, cargo terminal, fuel farm + construction of new terminal building. Contract sum approximately USD 1 Billion.
Deep Cement Mixing Works - Third Runway for Hong Kong International Airport Authority. Work comprised drilling in sea bed where mud pits and contaminated ground is and pushing cement slurry into the ground to form clusters for ground reinforcement. Also included the sand blanket layer to control dispersing of contaminated soil.
Responsibilities included QA/QC of all aspects of work and co-ordination with construction team for completion and handing over of zones/areas. Also representing company in progress meetings with client for any quality issues.
Contract Sum: HK$ 6.22 billion
The works comprise the construction of a new Midfield Concourse Building in the midfield area of the Hong Kong International Airport, complete with 19 fully serviced aircraft stands and associated fixed link bridges & aircraft loading bridges, extension of APM (automated people movers) tunnel from T1 to new midfield concourse, a new taxiway with connection to existing taxiway and extension of the south runway road with all ABWF, E&M works.
Project Description
Contract Sum: HK$ 4.5 billion
The main contract involves design, construction, testing and commissioning and handover of the complete cargo terminal facility. Scope of works include: Construction of the substructure and superstructure of warehouse, ramp and office building, associated M&E, ABWF and drainage works, material handling system and BIM modeling.
Responsible for construction quality assurance.
Project worth around US$60 million
Established and implemented Quality Management System and aquired ISO 9001:2008 Certification for company. Controlled a team of QA/QC personnel on a large scale project i.e. Dubai International Airport Terminal 3 expansion. Managed and supervised QA/QC on the project. Conducted internal audits on several projects in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Played a key role in developing and implementing quality procedures within the organization and maintaining ISO Certification. Played a key role in resolving non-conformances on site, corrective & preventive actions and close out of non-conformances. Provided training and guidance to junior engineers.
Several drainage, road works, utilities lines, pavement works, concreting works projects.
Responsible for liaison & correspondence with main contractors/consultants on QA/QC matters. Implementing PQP, ITP, Method Statement, QMS.
Raising I.Rs, checklists and maintaining a document tracking system.
On-site checking/supervision to ensure work is delivered in accordance with approved project specifications.
Handling & submitting material compliance documentation.
Managing & resolving all Technical & QA related issues.
Participating/updating in progress meetings.
Responsible for liaison with Consultants and Sub-contractors on-site regarding QA/QC matters
Issuing inspection requests for inspections to Consultants, getting approvals, issuing non-conformance reports to sub-contractors.
Site supervision and quality control (ensuring workmanship and materials used comply with project specifications for landfill liner installation, landfill gas wells installation, drainage works (surface water channels), earthworks, excavation/reclamation and site formation.
On-site supervision of density testing with densometer (Troxler).
Supervising laboratory and field-testing of construction materials i.e. soils testing (physical properties tests/in-situ testing with Densometer, Troxler), concrete testing and landfill liner materials testing (destructive and non-destructive testing on HDPE).
Preparing and submission of variety of reports i.e. laboratory and field testing reports, daily site diary, photo logs, liner materials testing reports etc
Participating and taking minutes in progress meetings.
Mainly responsible for running a concrete testing laboratory.
Developing/maintaining testing procedures to be followed for all testing in the laboratory and on site.
Supervising laboratory & field-testing of concrete, aggregate, grouts etc.
Preparing and submission of test results and reports.
Monitoring/recording and associated QA/QC of concrete works on site.
Co-ordination with batching plant in production and modifications to concrete mix designs.
Calibration of equipment, preparing reports and records.
