Managing the operational security department which is responsible for handling all security systems such as IPS(IBM Proventia), Cisco systems, SIM (ArcSight), Access control systems, Asymmetric devices, Datacenter security. Core responsibilities include:
• Coach and monitor a team of three security engineers.
• Ensure that security is correctly designed, implemented and managed according to company policies and customers requirements.
• Support the sales team in the pre-sales cycle through participating in prospective customers facing activities such as security requirements gathering, presentations on offered security services, and in designing of secured solution architectures.
• Set and manage team objectives in line with those of the company to ensure that continuous personal development plans are in place for all team members.
• Optimize the productivity of the unit and ensure ongoing security through careful planning of resources, work schedule, attendance and vacations
• Work in collaboration with the Data Centre team to maintain a first class and professional facility regarding security (access controls, monitoring) at all times.
• Advise Service Managers on security aspects and negotiate OLA for security.
• Deal with and close off escalated customer requests (Incidents, Changes).
• Manage & administer the security policy for customer’s managed security infrastructure (routers, firewalls, Intrusion Detection Systems, encryption devices, VPN gateways, access control, and authentication systems)
• Capacity planning of security assets.
• Participate in security incident handling drills periodically.
• Responsible for collecting and preserving the integrity of critical system, network or other forensic evidence before, during and after a security incident.
• Developing and updating processes for a number of Information Security/Information Assurance services.

Worked and maintained security systems such as IPS systems penetration testing and vulnerability assessment on two data centers hosting more than 1000 servers and 100 web sites.

Built SIM systems from scratch: ArcSight, RSA envision, created alerting rules and monitoring aspects on the network \ applications security.
• Build MSS customer security reports
• Create major incident reports, and outage reports
• Ensure the security of SNOC and Data Centers from internal and external unauthorized physical & logical access
• Managing & administering the security policy for Customer’s managed security infrastructure (routers, firewalls, Intrusion Detection Systems, encryption devices, VPN gateways, access control, and authentication systems)
• Supports hardening of Servers.
• Security monitoring & Analysis
• Immediate reporting to superiors on any high level security alerts or incidents

• Building training material for students.
• Conducting training courses for students.
• Building technical Labs and system simulations for training
purposes.
• Training on how to troubleshoot technical cases with live scenarios.
