As a Junior Mining Engineer, I took on several tasks and carried out routine assignments. My most important duties include:
• Weekly and monthly ventilation monitoring and reporting.
• Rock mechanics surveying and reporting.
• Geological surveying and mapping including on site investigation of underground geological trends
• Ensured transition of geological information was used properly for underground mine workers.
• Mine surveying and update of current mine maps using autoCAD.
• Ensuring health and safety regulations are being followed. Including reports on environmental issues and government requirements.
• Responsible for project planning and management while providing reports for both underground and surface operations.
• Achieve a stable mining operation by providing a reliable connection between the engineering and mine production departments.
• Report daily to Mine Engineer and discuss current issues and possible solutions.
Safe and efficient transportation and packaging of high volumes of salt.
Ensured a high standard of quality control.
Reported to foreman on daily basis to discuss the days tasks.
Maintenance and various duties
Basic Cook/Cashier duties. Took on various roles including successful advertising and customer relations. Resolved employee conflicts, handled large amounts of cash, and scheduled work times.
Class representative for the engineering community. Captain of the indoor soccer team. Senior Design team leader
