Working as a one man team at our head office in southwest Scotland. Overseeing and managing biological process controls of 6 AD sites across the country. Responsibilities include;
• Reviewing daily yield efficiency data of each plant and advise accordingly
• Reviewing daily/weekly biological analysis of each site including VFAs, Fos:Tac, NH4-N, pH etc and advise accordingly
• Carrying out trace metal analysis through Atomic Absorption (AA) Spectroscopy every month for each site and issue instructions accordingly i.e. increase nutrients dosage if any Digester is low in nutrients or increase Ferric dosage if a digester is low in Fe
• Carrying out Residual Bio-methane potential (RBP) tests for each Digester discharge samples every month in lab using anaero mini reactors and advise accordingly i.e. in case of higher than normal RBP results check for digester mixing settings or HRT at Buffer(feed tank) etc
• Carrying out Yield potential tests (m3 of CH4 per tons of VS) for new and existing feedstock (with varying conditions and scenarios) on routine basis and keep the yield potential data up to date for each substrate.
• Visiting each sites on monthly basis (more frequently if required) and conduct refresher seminar with the site operators addressing topics such as what does sudden drop in CH4 on SCADA means, operation of moisture analyser for feedstock %DS, Fos:Tac analysis etc
• Prepare monthly R&D reports for each site with the regression analysis
• analysis by comparing plant daily yield Efficiency against Parameters like HRT, OLR, NH4-N, free Ammonia, F:T etc
• Carrying out routine AD lab analysis to confirm sites results on monthly basis including F:T, COD analysis, TSS, NH4-N, %DS and %VS of feedstock and Digesters, VFA analysis etc

closed landfill sites & construction of new engineered cell (with clay/HDPE/GCL +geotextile liner),

in LFG recovery & monitoring projects - drilling groundwater, LFG &Leachate Wells - capping of
closed landfill sites & construction of new engineered cell (with clay/HDPE/GCL +geotextile liner),
contaminated land investigation works
Liaise with environmental agency and submit quarterly waste returns and annual PI returns,
overviewing weighbridge operations and controlling feedstock as per the EA permit and EWC codes.
Supervising maintenance manager and allocating maintenance jobs. Liaise with the vendors i.e.
engines servicing providers, parts and equipment calibration providers etc. Weekly presentations
showing comparison graphs between digesters biology quality, power production and revenues etc.
• Managing daily operations of the plant including process management (daily Biology testing i.e.
Fos:Tac, %solids, EC, PH etc, 24/7SCADA monitoring, Alarms handling & troubleshooting i.e. spark plug
replacement etc).
• Managing CSTR feeding in order to operate it to its maximum potential.
• Scheduling and dispatching routine samples for CSTR biology and PAS110 analysis to the lab.
• Site management including collection, storage and processing of AD feedstock and removal of the
rejected packaging & Digestate offsite.
• Maintaining the right balance of TS feeding and utilization of effluents in order to minimize town
water usage as low as possible • Management of routine maintenance tasks, maintaining plant daily
records.
• Prepared & implemented QMS, HACCP and relative formal procedures for PAS110 accreditation and
maintained PAS110 standards before and after the accreditation.
• Supervision of weighbridge operations, liaise with Environmental Agency on routine basis and submit
quarterly waste returns and annual PI reports
