Managed the Infrastructure department of the Emerging Markets Branch of the Royal Bank of Canada in Switzerland. The infrastructure head reports to the COO of RBC Switzerland and ensures the availability of all infrastructure components.

Key responsibilities:

Server infrastructure for financial applications. (iSeries and MS-Windows)
Workstations, networking and telecommunications for 180 end-users in Geneva.
IT Security / Enforcement of Swiss Bank Secrecy rules against RBC group policies.
IT Audit / Lead the 2nd Level IT support for financial and office applications team.
Manage a team of 3 people. / IT Infrastructure budget.
Interaction with central and global teams to ensure group policies and processes are adhered to.


Key achievements:

High available system. Redundant set-up between different office locations in Geneva.
Optimized provisioning system for servers and workstations.
End-user awareness training for IT Security risks.
Liaise with local compliance and central risk roles to ensure Swiss compliance with FINMA regulations.
Audit global interactions to our infrastructure to ensure strict adherence to Swiss Bank secrecy rules. Force changes in global process to align to local regulation. (SMS / SCCM localization)

Managed the overall IT Security aspects of the Private Wealth Management Branch of the Deutsche Bank in Switzerland, Channel Islands and Luxembourg.

Key achievements:

Developed and implemented a framework of Security Policies and procedures in the cluster countries to make sure the existing Deutsche Bank Global Processes are adhered to.
Interface role between IT, Business and Regulatory Framework (Swiss Bank Secrecy Rules) understanding each specific needs, and negotiated solutions acceptable for all in regard to price, usability and security.
Protection of client and other sensitive information, active role in many IT project phases to make sure that all applicable rules are respected.
Participated significantly on the migration of the core platform of the Private Wealth Management branch to a new core platform and managed the security and regulatory subjects related to this new core application.
Managed the implementation of hardware encryption for this new core platform and other applications that handle sensitive data, software integration, key management & procedures.
Cooperated on a project base with the physical security department for the integration of a new access control system for a Swiss-wide implementation, ensure compliance with local regulation and monitored remote support from outside Switzerland.

Managed the integration of security solutions and audits at customers and inside LANExpert. Work included architectural decisions, financial offers, management of other consultants involved in the projects.

Customers were private banks, other financial institutions, international enterprises and (non-)governmental organizations in the French speaking area of Switzerland.
