Scope of Work Done:
* Firefighting: Municipal & Industrial related
* Vehicle rescue, e.g. passenger, heavy vehicle, trains etc.
Hazard identification, risk assessments and initiating preventative or corrective controls
* Adhere to and apply legal and other requirements to reach health & safety objectives
* Involved with competency training and awareness
* Internal communication with departmental employees regarding health & safety procedures and new
procedures to be implemented
* Health & safety document control: Injury on Duty (IOD) related and legal registers
* Operational control in terms of safe scene management and compliance management to reach the objectives
set in the health & safety policy and departmental SOP’s
* Incident investigations: Injuries on Duty (IOD) investigations to establish possible nonconformities to implement
corrective and preventative actions
* Involved with appointment and training of safety representatives in all sections within the department
* Health & safety internal audits and inspections on all depots
* Development and implementation of departmental health & safety SOP’s
* Initiating toolbox talks on all depots to enhance the health & safety culture within the emergency services
department
Classification: Internal Use
* Environmental representative to assist in maintaining the environmental policy within the department in
accordance to international standards, ISO 14001
* Assist with the implementation of a quality management system to obtain ISO 9001 certification within the
emergency services department
* Compensation for Occupational Injuries & Disease (COID) claims on Aon insurance system
