• Ensure the day to day leadership of the various business units within the Transportation cluster of some 500 people strong team.
• Engage the Business Unit leaders on performance (operational, financial, legal and Human Resources); development of Turn Around Strategy for struggling business to enhance the Project Utilization, Financial, HR and resource optimization based on revenue billability and functionality + Strategic and focused business development through development of Tactical Pursuit Strategies and Action Plans well in advance of the market and competitors.
• Support of the Business Units to identify risks and provide leadership and directorship in developing appropriate risk management solutions according to the likelihood of Occurrence and level of severity.
• Develop and implement a growth strategy for the Transportation Cluster both locally within South Africa and greater Africa focus;
• Develop the target budgets for the cluster through weekly engagements with the Business Units ensure that overall targets are met and if not engage the businesses and together agree on solutions to be implemented;
• Initiate the development of Business Development collateral and marketing material to establish the EOH Transportation brand within the industry;
• Engage strategically manage relationships with existing and new key clients (ambassadors / foreign ministers of trade, senior Government decision making officials and CEO's of businesses, investors, collaborative partners, OEM's and the like, toward securing annuity and project specific contractual relations;
• Develop an acquisition strategy that defines the white spaces available within the cluster; source companies that fit these white spaces and lead the acquisition process from courting phase, Due Diligence, Heads of Agreement through to final Hand over.
• Project Sponsor as Transportation Leader of mega Transportation bids involving multiple Business Units (14-20 Business Units from Environmental to Connectivity, Engineering, to construction, etc) of values R100m and above.
• Geographical and target market analysis across Africa; Engaged with NEPAD, WAPP, EAPIC and SADC
• Growth and market share strategies and tactical implementation plans on key targets with involvement and or oversight of execution with Market Sector Leads/Bid Leads
• Thought Leadership initiatives, driving market trends, innovation and Centres of Excellence
• BP Retail Global Framework and leader of Southern Africa - South Africa and Mozambique Initiative - $180m
• Simandou Rail and Port development in collaboration with Fluor - $7bn
