As a senior IT Solutions Architect at SBM, I work on technical solution of IT Infrastructure and Services to meet business requirements of various Organizations across Saudi . Below is the summary of recent projects and my other responsibilities in my current role.

Plan & Design the IT Architecture for Linux, Storage and Backup systems.
• Define the road map for the infrastructure growth & expansion.
• Build Bill of Materials (BOM) & deal with various Technology vendors to reach to the optimum cost-effective solution.
• Provide Beer review for designs from other Architects and provide recommendations for solution resiliency and cost reduction.
• Provide level 2 & level 3 Support for IT Enterprise Architecture.
• Coach and lead IT infrastructure Admins through projects implementation and operations.
• Build backup & storage operations team and guide them through different technologies stack.
• Manage a team of 4 members for backup & storage with one of them offshore.
• Monitor & Track team tasks & activities through task tracker sheet with time spent on each task.
• Evaluate team productivity and create KPIs to enhance the productivity.
• Arrange technology refresh sessions & training for backup & storage team using relations with various vendors.
• Build IT policies & Procedures based on technology best practice.
• Attend Weekly CAB meeting and make sure for successful CR implementation with minimum or Zero downtime.
• Handle Licenses Renewal with Vendor & optimize License Usage for backup and Linux systems.
• Support Oracle Database Admins team in Oracle RAC installation and implementation on Linux systems.

Providing onsite support for Saudi Aramco huge SystemP/AIX Environment which consists of more than 300 LPAR spreaded over 6 P595, 2 P780, 2 P570, 8 P550 and 2 DS8300.
Part of My tasks was doing the following:
- Configure HMCs in a dual configuration for each pSeries Box.
- Install & Configure VIO servers in a dual VIO scenario, this including
SEA adapter over Etherchannel and failover between 2 VIOSs.
- Install/Configure/upgrade SDDPCM driver for storage.
- Install & configure AIX DLPARs & VLPARs
- Install and configure PowerHA for SAP/Oracle
- Debug PowerHA smart Assist for SAP/oracle
- Install and configure GPFS for Oracle RAC and SAP applications.
- Troubleshoot complex performance problems and provide recommendations.
- Troubleshoot Oracle DBs/RAC problems and provide RCA.
- Develop documentation and procedures for Aramco administrators.
- Manage support cases escalation with IBM L2/L3 support.
- Provide needed support for Oracle DBs/RAC/SAP upgrades.
- Provided needed support for Oracle/SAP migration from Solaris to AIX.
My tasks during this project was as following:
- Design, implement and support TSM Environment in a clustered windows environment for backing up clustered SAP production and development environments using TSM-TDP for MS-SQL.
- Plan, configure and implement IBM VTL TS7520 with 70 Virtual Tape Drives.
- Stabilize the backup process and coach the onsite administrator to understand the daily backup cycle, and solve the problem of tape drives device names changing.
- Implement TBMR (Tivoli Bare Metal Restore) for faster server recovery.
- Integrating HP StorageWorks 9000 VLS with the current TSM environment.
- Plan for Tape systems and Storage Zoning with SAN team
My tasks during this project was as following:
- Migrating TSM environment from AIX to LINUX intel based server
And configuring multiple TSM instances with 2 IBM tape libraries using
A shared libraries configuration Scenario.
- Plan for storage migration for the current SAN infrastructure from Brocade/IBM Shark environment to a new Cisco/EMC Clarion SAN environment.
- Configure Storage for Linux using EMC PowerPath Multipathing SW.
- Plan for Tape systems and Storage Zoning with SAN team.
This project purpose was to upgrade Aramco EXPEC current backups system to the latest available TSM code and migrate the current System from AIX on S85 Machine to RedHat Linux on P570 machine. My mission was to plan design the migration process since this system will scan daily 2PB of Data using 3580 Tape library with 24 Drives, check for prerequisites, help Aramco to maximize backup throughput and minimize backup window, implement multiple TSM instances to distribute the load and coach the onsite administrators to be familiar with multiple instances setup, insure the stability of new system and implement the TSM DRM (Disaster Recovery Module) and provide advice and support whenever it is needed.
My tasks was as following:
- Install & configure RedHat Linux on P570 machine.
- Configure SW raid on 2 internal disks.
- Configure LVM for TSM storage pools.
- Compile IBM lin_tape driver with Lintaped daemon.
- Implement 10 TSM instances to accommodate the load.
- Configure daily maintenance scripts for backups and migration.
- Develop Bash script to maintain tape drives device names binding.
- Configure NDMP backups for NAS CIFS volumes.
- Configure TSM Disaster Recovery Module and eject DR tapes on monthly basis.
- Tune Linux & TSM performance parameters for better performance.
- Migrate old TSM instances from old S85 system to another Linux LPAR in the p570.
- Assist Aramco backup administrators in their customers backup/request by using Linux scripts and TSM macros.
- Develop scripts for performance monitoring and daily/weekly/monthly TSM backup/archives and tape cartridges usage.
- Plan for Tape systems and Storage Zoning with SAN team.
- Plan for Linux kernel upgrades.
Working as outsourced Senior System Engineer at SBM-IMC (International Medical Center)
- Support IBM pSeries P5-550 with HACMP cluster & Oracle RAC 9i.
- Manage and Support TSM backup server and view daily backups hatcheck report & analyze it for backup failures reasons and fix it.
- Implement and support IBM Blade servers HS20 with RedHat Linux for Oracle E-Business Suite 11i.
- Implement and operate HP proliant ML350 servers Windows 2003 Servers for Infrastructure services (Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, ISA, IIS, Exchange Cluster, Terminal Servers and NTP).
- Plan, design, implement and support IBM Blade Servers with VMWARE ESX servers for small size windows servers.
- Implement and Support IBM 3582 Automated Tape Library with TSM Backup server to manage it.
- Manage and maintain IBM DS4300 SAN storage with IBM SAN manger.
Implement DELL-MD3000 SAS storage for Microsoft Exchange Cluster.

It was a 6 months trainning program where it took about 900 Hours. I learned about about Networking and Internet but I was specilazed in Linux and AIX system Administration. The GPA for this program was 76%. Our gradutaion project was "Admin ToolKit" It is a tool we made with C++ to help the admin to configure "Proxy,Firewall,Dhcp" and make configuration very easly. I'm certified AIX system Administrator from IBM. I'm also certified Linux system Adminstrator from LPI (Linux Professional Institute).
