Currently working as General Manager Finance & HR in GEAP Group of Companies, a Large Business Group in Dubai, having an Annual Turnover exceeding UAE 2.00 Billion.
Immediately on joining the Group in February, 2016, I headed a team of 8-10 professionals for implementing MS Dynamics AX, an ERP package for the entire group.
Successfully facilitated the re-configuration of MS Dynamics AX ERP package for the Tax Group of four GEAP Group Companies as per the UAE VAT legislation.
The other core areas include Working Capital Management, Exercising controls over Export Letters of Credit, Accounting & MIS, Reviewing ERP integrity reports and General Administration. The Group has a significant presence in the UAE for the last forty years and has made forays into trading of HT Deformed Steel Bars, manufacturing of Cut & Bend Steel, Shipchandling, Road Marking, Surface Transportation and packaged food Supply. The group has offices in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Al Ain and a Road Marking Plant in the Sultanate of Oman.
The Group has a 100% subsidiary in Mauritius which has been formed with a core objective of investing in companies in India and in other Geographies.
I report to the Managing Director and Executive director of the Group on all Finance, Accounting, Banking, HR, Legal and Administration related activities of the Group.
I am also discharging a role of supervising and monitoring all statutory compliances in India for a company formed and registered in India as a 100% subsidiary of GEAP Mauritius.
The Group is currently restructuring its business model and has ambitious plans for expansion in other areas in the Middle East.
For the period from April, 2011 till 31st March, 2014, I worked as a Chief Financial Officer for the
company reporting to the Country Manager located in Singapore.
From 1st April, 2013 till 31st March, 2014 I was also responsible as a Project Manager for setting up Standard Costing Module at Nexans’ HV, LV & MV cable manufacturing Plants at Yanggu, in China. I lead a multicultural team of professionals from various countries for the project.
From 1st April, 2014, till 15th February, 2015 worked as a Finance Controller in Nexans China for their Golden Key Project in the MV Plant at Yanggu, Shandong Province, China, on a secondment contract.
Effective 16th February, I was employed with Nexans Singapore PTE Limited based out of Singapore as Compliance & Area Accounting Manager for APAC region for the company and reported to the APAC CFO. The role required extensive reporting on compliance audits of Nexans entities in the APAC region and provide support to the APAC CFO on MIS, Financial Decisions & Analysis, Forecasting Cash Flows of APAC entities, Reporting and in-depth analysis of Operating Working Capital KPIs like DSO, Ageing analysis of Receivables, review of provision for Bad debts, Insurance of Receivables, Three month Cash collection forecasting of all APAC entities and also monthly & Quarterly Group Reporting to the Corporate office in Paris on Ess Base reporting tool.
Effective 1st of July, 2015, I was relocated to NIPL, Vadodara, India, as a CFO to help and guide the Indian finance team on specific projects under the directive of Nexans APAC office and also to assist the APAC CFO on monitoring of all KPIs on Operating Working Capital of APAC entities.
Finance & Accounts and contributed significantly in the field of Direct taxation by getting the ongoing income tax assessments of all the group companies completed on time, providing direction to the Company secretary in the Corporate Secretarial matters thru interpretation of the provisions of various complex sections in the Companies Act, 1956, on related party transactions, disclosure of interest by directors and providing guidance on updating the register of contracts in which directors are interested .
I was also involved in setting up the Standard Costing system for the company.
I made significant contributions to the group in the field of internal and statutory audits and was directly reporting to the Deputy Managing Director based out of Mumbai on all accounting, audit and tax matters.
I also had a dotted line reporting to the Managing Director on matters pertaining to investment of funds of group investment companies
of the Company in Mumbai. The Company had a carbon Black manufacturing plant located at Thane. I had immense opportunity of developing my inter personal and communication skills by preparing for and attending formal quarterly Board meetings and updating myself on Company law matters.
I had a team of seven accountants and as a team we were responsible for manufacturing accounting, cost accounting, monthly payroll of Exempt & Non-Exempt staff, budgeting, MIS and Statutory compliances.
South Asia in its Registered office in Vadodara and was responsible for implementing the ERP package-JD Edwards for the company in Hongkong.
After implementation of the ERP package for the Company, I became the Geography Process Owner and was a part of the International ERP team operating out of Hongkong.
I was also responsible for getting the income tax assessments completed on time.
