 Managing full scope audits, periodic reviews, consolidations and other special reporting assignments governed under International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), International standards on Auditing (ISA), Generally Accepted Accounting Practices in the UK (UKGAAP) and other regulatory requirements.
 Co-ordinate with various professionals such as information technology experts, valuation departments, accounting, internal audit and IFRS experts in respect of critical reportable matters.

 Using a risk based audit approach and preparing efficient work programs by focusing on understanding trhe clients’ business, risks and drivers, with sound commercial knowledge of business.
 Leading large audit teams and reviewing the work of subordinates in a thorough and constructive manner. Ensuring that work delegated is managed efficiently
 Reviewing complex group consolidations and liaising with other group auditors for requirements and reporting structures.

EXTERNAL AUDIT EXPERIENCE

 Overall planning of audits, conducting initial planning meetings with clients to understand & co-develop expectations and designing audit strategies in consultation with the Engagement Partner, after assessing the underlying audit risk in the light of the assessment of the client’s overall control environment.
 Application of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and Generally Accepted Accounting Practices in the UK (UKGAAP).
 Review and supervision of the work performed by audit assistants throughout the course of the audit.
 Assisting client with the preparation and presentation of financial statements including significant financial statement disclosures, in the light of the relevant reporting framework and ensuring compliance with all applicable reporting requirements
 Preparation of final audit deliverables - the audit report, the covering letter to the Board of Directors, the Management Letter, reporting packs and other reports and certificates.
 Providing basic advisory services to clients in respect of taxation, foreign currency remittances, accounting treatment of transactions in accordance with IFRS and compliance with secretarial practices.
 Engaged in analysis, modeling and due diligence for prospective acquisitions and market research.


INTERNAL AUDIT EXPERIENCE

I have been involved in the internal audit assignments including assignments of Unilver Pakistan, N.J Auto Industries (Private) Limited and Pirani Engineering during my on-the-job training with Ernst & Young - Karachi Office.

Key Responsibilities were:
 Development of SOPs relating to significant accounting processes;
 Reviewing the business processes of the Companies with the objective of assessing the effectiveness, efficiency and adequacy of the existing processes and the related controls to identify opportunities, assess performance and control gaps and develop feasible short-term to long-term action plans to leverage opportunities, mitigate the risks and resolve the issues to prevent recurrence.
 Preparation of Management letter which incorporated observations, impact and recommendations for identified weaknesses.

Seconded as an Audit Senior to Ernst & Young, Doha office. I was selected consecutively for 3rd year for secondment based on my performance and feedbacks from other offices.

Seconded as an Engagement Auditor to Ernst & Young, Dubai office in Assurance and Advisory Business services (AABS).

Seconded to Ernst & Young, Kuwait office in their Assurance and Advisory Business services (AABS) division. Based on my performance, I was the first amongst my peers to be selected for secondment.
