• Responsible for the entire operations of MIS (data), IT and marketing department in four colleges (with more than 4000 students) dispersed geographically, including the direct management of the team members.
• Led a software development team to design and develop a Web-Based ERP system for the colleges operated by The Oxford Partnership.
• I was the primary contact person for the Oxford Partnership with the government relations officer due to my understanding of the contract law and its implementation.
• Setting, defining and reporting the KPI data on all platforms.
• Participated as the lead representative for my departments in multiple college data audits and inspections.
• I have worked closely with the HR, Finance and Facilities department in various internal projects and have deep knowledge of their operations and technology/system needs.
Developed a Counseling and Career Service Support System for the Counseling and Career Service department following the phases of System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) such as planning, analysis, design, and implementation. FAST methodology was used to find out the business problems and suggest system solution. The key functions were
1. Gaining an insight about the company, its functions, background, mission, vision, organizational structure and study what their respective roles within the department under study.
2. Detailed study of the functions performed by the CCS (Counseling and Career Service) department.
3. Finding out problems of the department using the fact finding techniques such as observation, interviewing key members, discussions, fish bone diagram and others.
4. Finding out the causes of the problems and the solution for each problem; which includes understanding system requirement.
5. Understanding the function of the new system based on information collected using variety of data and class diagrams such use case diagram, class diagram, activity diagram, sequence diagram, entity relationship diagrams and others.
6. Conducting a feasibility study (economic, social, cultural, environmental) of the suggested solutions and choosing the optimal solution.
7. Designing the conceptual model of the system and converting the conceptual into logical, and then into physical design.
8. Implementing the physical design using software like Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio, and Microsoft Visual Studio 2008.
9. Lastly, preparing the user manual of the new system and presenting the case to panel of external examiners to be evaluated.
This project was documented in each phase and was supervised by a professional, Dr. Diala Abi Haidar, PhD, Assistant Professor, Management Information Systems.
