1. In conjunction with the management team, assist in selecting tenders to pursue based on our relative competitiveness, capabilities and workload.
2. Managing and coordinating the outputs of our tendering support personnel
towards achieving the unit’s tendering goals.
3. Overseeing the timely and professional preparation of tender submissions.
4. Reviewing drawings and technical backup information to be submitted.
5. Reviewing productivity basis to be utilized in cost estimate.
6. Reviewing tender direct cost estimate.
7. Reviewing tender in-direct cost estimate.
8. Directing the estimation staff for alternative, more cost effective solutions.
9. Preparing tender clarification submissions.
10. Ensuring that tender site meetings are attended and relevant information fed back for inclusion in tenders.
11. Evaluating technical requirements and assigning portions of the scope to various subcontractors and suppliers.
12. Sourcing supplier and subcontractor quotations.
13. Evaluating conditions of tender/contract and mitigating the company’s risk exposure.
14. Preparing commercial and technical write up on our offer for inclusion in tenders.
15. Reviewing preliminary project programme.
16. Reviewing technical schedules to detail the parameters of our offer.
17. Participate in contract award negotiations.
18. Transfer of information on successful projects including the Job Kick-off Meeting
19. Submitting reports on tendering feedback on a monthly basis.
My key responsibilities include the following:-
1. Assigns responsibilities for estimating team on each project.
2. Reviews project plans and specifications and coordinates with the team to confirm complete scope.
3. Identify risk issues and their order of magnitude.
4. Solicit subcontractor and/or supplier information & pricing
5. Prepares instructions to bidders, bid form and other bid solicitation information as required.
6. Manages the quantity survey and pricing effort for internal budgets.
7. Reviews conceptual budgets based on minimal information.
8. Reviews general conditions, schedule, scopes of work, hoisting plans, site logistics and other exhibits as prepared by Operations.
9. Ensures the flow of project information is maintained and documented.
10. Reviews and/or manages the review and scoping of specialty contractor bids.
11. Coordinates insurance requirements with Risk Manager.
12. Coordinates technical proposal requirements with Marketing Department.
13. Reviews constructability issues with operational staff.
14. Maintains and communicates data on construction and material cost trends affecting project costs.
15. Analyze alternate means and methods to determine the most economic alternative.
16. Participate in establishing a work breakdown structure, budget setup and tracking, forecasting, change management, earned value analysis, monitoring of claims, and cash flow.
17. Participate in Preparing project cost reports, including financial and other key performance indicators / metrics.
18. Develop historical cost data for benchmarking purposes.
19. Particpate in monitoring projects to ensure that are managed to the highest quality in the most cost effective manner with strict adherence to schedule
20. Provides/review the following aspects:
• Planning/scheduling, in preparation of bar charts and CPM Schedules, progress charts and curves, manpower plans, equipment and material schedules utilizing.
• Verification of cost codes for timesheets and requisitions.
• Recasting project estimate into baseline budget.
• Estimation of direct cost of variation orders and potential claims.
• Maintenance of the project cash flow (PFS) as required by the organization.
• Preparation of State of Requirements (SORs)and AFEs.
My key responsibilities include the following:-
1- Prepare detailed accurate material, labor, equipment, subcontracts, construction facilities, etc. estimates.
2- Foster relationships with subcontractors and suppliers.
3- Attend on-site pre-bid/proposal conferences and site visits.
4- Develop and review subcontractor scopes of work and accept, review, and analyze subcontractor quotes for best value.
5- Prepare project bid status reports and ensure compliance with all specifications and contract Statements of Work and Bid Invitations.
6- Present cost estimates to meet customer proposals, providing consideration for general and special conditions.
7- Prepare scope specifications and requirements, prepare and inputs project schedules, perform quantity takeoffs.

1- Liaising with any consultants, subcontractors, supervisors, planners, quantity surveyors and the general workforce involved in the project;
2- Liaising with the local authority (where appropriate to the project) to ensure compliance with local construction regulations and by-laws;
3- Liaising with clients and their representatives (architects, engineers and surveyors), including attending regular meetings to keep them informed of progress;
4- Day-to-day management of the site, including supervising and monitoring the site labor force and the work of any subcontractors;
5- Planning the work and efficiently organizing the plant and site facilities in order to meet agreed deadlines;
6- Overseeing quality control and health and safety matters on site;
7- Preparing reports as required;
8- Resolving any unexpected technical difficulties and other problems that may arise.
