Accomplishments
===============
• The challenge with random downtime incidents, different support teams, and unknown issues, action with proactive monitoring, and implementing preventive maintenance for the production system, build system matrix and found a better way to collaborate with different teams.
The result I was able to minimize downtime and increase company revenues by keeping the system up 24/7.
• The challenge with the new location of the new Datacenter was a smaller size with less number of racks. Due to the business nature and online transaction, the business allowed very short downtime. The action was consolidating and virtualized 60% of the physical servers, evaluate all online servers and identify which one still needed and which one to decommission, working in both old and the new locations, and move some services temporary to different data center, the result we were able to minimize the operation outage and accomplish smooth transition to the new location.
• The challenge was we inherited a massive number of licenses and big cost of annual support contracts. I reviewed all the company licenses, support agreements, and identifying what we need, and what not. Working with the different team members and managers to identify what kind of support and licenses still needed, the result, I was able to save about 50% of the annual license cost and enhance the support efficiency
