Managing Allianz Insurance Lanka Limited as the Team Lead - L2 Support Team and Helpdesk Team.
● Manage a Windows based (mainly) environment with over 100+ servers, consolidated using VMware ESXI 5.5 and a group of 7 Physical servers, IBM Blade Center with IBM and HP SAN Storages
● provide end user support to a user base over 900 users’ island wide on their IT related queries.
● Monitor, provide solutions, escalate issues and directly liaise with vendors for SLAs, Installations and troubleshoots
● Providing consultation and directing teams on Security, environment upgrades, daily operations and disaster recovery management activities as per the management requirements
● Working with Allianz Group Network (AGN) for Asia Pacific on Security threat management, educating users etc.
• Overall responsible for the Spinneys Qatar Network and Telecommunication infrastructure ensuring availability of network and data 24/7.
• Oversee, evaluate, plan and approve the requirements of IT Department related tasks at existing and future Supermarkets across Qatar.
• Manage 4 direct reporting IT Staff addressing daily operational issues and projects across three stores and one third party warehouse.
• Manage the PFM team with indirect reporting towards achieving the price changes over stores, tackling price and item related issues and managing item data integrity of the stores.
• Accountable on the company's Data Security, Data Centers, Point Of Sales operations and scale operations inclusive with the bank swipe machines and data replications between stores and third party warehouse.
• Tasked with designing planning and managing of companies' data centers and network infrastructure across Qatar region
• Decision maker/highest influencer in Purchasing IT Software, hardware, supplies including Scales for the company according to company guidelines and within the budget limitations.
• Responsible in providing and guiding training on IT Systems and guidelines for the user base.
• Key responsible holder for Disaster recovery procedures, Information Security, and organization's IT Policy.
Achievement Highlights with Spinneys Qatar
• Successfully completed the Second store opening of Spinneys Qatar with the maximum utilization of the attached staff in creation of the Data Center & Server installation inclusive of Microsoft Dynamics Navision Servers and Active Directory infrastructure while saving 15, 000 QAR for the company.
• Cut down the Medina Centrale Store wireless installation project's costs by 35, 000 QAR (Lowest Third Party supplier cost) and installed a solution with the IT Team with spending only 1800 QAR having the same features.
• Introduced and migrated to Ooredoo (Qtel) Mobile lines for 200+ Users in March 2012 from Vodafone mobile network. Bought in 10 Apple IPhone 5 Devices for the management at Free of Charge as a part of the deal.
• Developed system support components in updating, deleting item database saving hundreds of man hours in entering, deleting data manually.
• Introduced the Blackberry Services to the Qatar Operations in 2011 with free blackberry data provided by Vodafone (2011) and later Ooredoo (2012 March onwards) broadening the communication effectiveness of the company's key personal.
• Cut down the Printing cost of the company by 70% with the introduction of Konica Minolta 363 MFP instead of Xerox 3635 MFP and a line of Xerox desktop printers with reducing desktop printing and increasing productivity.

• Ensuring the availability of the Indra Traders Network for branches and Service Center round the clock and having system access along with it.

• Responsible in purchasing of IT Equipment under the supervision of the IT Manager and secure IT Equipment for replacements and new branch requirements as needed.
• Providing End User Training as needed and re train users according to the training needs specified by the HR Department requests.
Achievement Highlights with MBSL Savings Bank
• Installed and Migrated the Branch Network from Dial Up networks to BizDSL connection and the new AS/400 System within a week island wide, training the users for the AS/400 operations in combination with the Operations Department in the year 2008
• Worked with the ATM project in the launch of the Co-Branded ATM Cards combined with Seylan Bank and handled the ATM Creations, Monitoring of the ATM Network in combined with Seylan Team and Testing of ATM Cards.
• Implemented the Bank's Disaster recovery policy and IT Policy alongside with the IT Manager in the year 2008
• Successfully migrated the company antivirus product from Trend Micro to Kaspersky Server in 2008 in parallel to the IT Policy and DR Policy launch.
• Active Member of the AS/400 Migration Project team as the system administrator for the bank.
• Created the Bank's first WiFi network for all managers' use in 2008
• Responsible in preparation of the IT Division courses and arrange lecturers in conducting IT Division courses.
• Evaluation of the IT Division classes and the Quality of the lectures deliver by the staff of IT by conducting periodic exams and evaluation tests for staff.
• Preparations of the Lab Sessions and Practice sessions for students in joining with the Students Coordinator.
• Delivering lectures at the LMUs' Bsc. in Business Information Technology Degree first year classes (NCC Education Standards - UK), Advance Diploma Classes and Beginners Diploma Classes, Computer Assisted Learning (Teachers' Training course)

• Implemented the Pearson VUE Test Center - The first online testing facility in Nawalapitiya for online education tests such as Microsoft Certifications exams and worked as the Test Center Administrator in delivering the world class test facility experience to Nawalapitiya region.
