Lead Technical Estimation Civil Engineer
• Responsible for working on diverse projects across a range of sectors such as Concrete repairing, Buildings rehabilitation/strengthening, OIL & Gas, marine repairs, CFRP, Wet/dry injection, shotcrete, protective coating, polyurea coating, industrial flooring, waterproofing, fireproofing, firestopping
• Prepare or support for method statements and material submittal that comply with project specification and construction standards.
• Review estimates prepared by other estimators to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with the scope of work, including those developed by contractor, that may need revising to reflect construction practices.
• Advise lower level estimators, team members, and junior engineers of company estimating methods/procedures and provides estimate breakdown direction help them make more accurate estimations.
• Provide technical support to draftsman and quantity surveyor and other project employees to help them prepare BOQ, shop drawing and as built drawings as per scope of work.
• Keep abreast of significant developments in cost estimating by close review of technical literature, Establish and maintain relationships with consultants, clients, suppliers and contractors, visit to areas of construction and attendance at professional and technical meetings.
• Review contract terms and propose warranty certificates accordingly
• Coordinate proposals for multiple estimation projects, as well as hold review responsibility for contracts and estimates
• Develop and maintain estimating systems and procedures, Maintain updated record of pricing standards for all items for estimations, through job-tracking reports including labor, equipment and materials
• Assist management in financial decision making for signing up for a project
• Review, provide feedback and evaluate performance of team members: Estimators, draftsman, quantity surveyor.
• Dealing with suppliers like: Sika, Fosroc, Basf, Ciko, Awazel, Bitumode, Firestone, Akfix, Mapei, Jotun, Hempel, DCP, GCP, Hilti, STI, 3M Akzo Nobel, Promat, StonCor etc, for pricing and technical support.
Technical Estimation Civil Engineer
• Apply technical knowledge inline with company scope of work: Concrete repairing, Buildings rehabilitation & strengthening, CFRP, Micro piling, Wet/Dry Injection, Shotcrete/Gunite, Soil Stabilizing/Anchoring, Soil Injection/Grouting
• Reviewing architectural & structural drawings and specifications to estimate total costs, and preparing detailed cost plans and estimates as tools to assist in budgetary control.
• Prepare and check the quantity surveying sheets and layouts to prepare BOQ's and bids according to site requirements and consultant recommendations to evaluate, rehabilitate, and maintain building projects.
• Present estimates and bids, prepare prices breakdown sheets, identify opportunity and risk during tender process, attend progress and technical meetings with direct manager, discuss and suggest technical proposals.
• Liaise with the business unit, bid manager and planner to agree methodology and principles, obtain feedback from site teams on estimating adequacy and current costs, Present estimates and bids, Identify opportunity and risk during tender process.
• Prepare quotations for the clients according the site data and situation and according to the recommendations of the consultants
• Prepare method statements, risk assessments and safety plans, and develop work methods and temporary works necessary for work completion, monitoring changes to designs, assessing effects on cost, and measuring, valuing and negotiating variations to designs
• Prepare technical and commercial comparison for offers received from the subcontractors and suppliers, and follow up of the subcontracted works, and assist in the preparation of the work requisition for the subcontracted works
• Plan and maintain project budgets and schedule planning activities with team and managers, prepare time schedule sheets according to projects situation and needed requirements.
• Dealing with suppliers like: Sika, Fosroc, Basf, Jotun, Hempel, DCP, GCP, Hilti, etc, for pricing and technical support.
Site Engineer (Civil Engineering)
• Working as a site engineer at a building (2B+G+10) that is related to SCS (Syrian Computer Society).
• Making and Identification shop drawings, also making As Built drawings.
• Supervising field installation activities such as Block walls, plastering, painting, waterproofing, insulation, AC ducts, plumping, granite, façade, structural modification and concrete repairing, protective coating, etc.
• Assigning group for each activity and checking all details of execution at site.
• Coordinating with the architects, structure engineers and consultants to executed works at site as per the contract and scope of work, and getting inspection requests approval.
• Working in conjunction with the senior engineers for the work provided.
• Providing support to the site supervisor and labors for solving execution difficulties.
• Preparing daily, weekly, monthly reports and submitting to projection manager and consultant.
