My responsibilities include:
- Technical Project Management (Managing and reporting Projects and Initiatives)
- Leading a Technical team with various specialty (Front-End/ Designers / Content specialists, Webservices and Mediation Specialists, Business Process Development Specialists, Mobile Specialists, QC specialists, Support Engineers)
- Building web Sites from scratch (Qatar National Day site and Qatar Workers site)
- Managing Support/Operation of the eGoverment (SLAs, Ticketing, Knowledge Management etc.)
- Writing RFPs and review Proposals.
- Develop and enhance internal processes (ex: Managing / building ALM and SDLC Processes)
- Process Automation (in some eServices we moved the customer from using Excel to fully automated processes)
- Products Evaluation (As example, For Application Lifecycle Management suites I managed the evaluation of the products of Microsoft, IBM and HP)
- Integration with Social Media project, Google Analytics Integration project and Google Search Appliance project
I was responsible for development/design different solutions and services on Qatar e-Government by delivering the required business using any of the below technologies and using IBM Portal:
1. Portlets using JSR 168, JSR 286 and WSRP.
2. JSF 1.0 and JSF 2
3. Dealing with different security related subjects like the following:
a) Modifying login portlet
b) Creating new TAI for the whole portal
c) Incorporating any other security solution with Portal like SAML and PKI related components
4. Portal themes development
5. WCM development.
In addition to all mentioned above, I have experienced the following:
1. Incorporating Social media (Twitter, Facebook and Instagram) different functionalists into portal, for example for Qatar National day, I created two widgets one for ICT Qatar Twitter account and One for ICT Qatar Instagram account, and also I used the social media APIs to build other functionality like getting the number of likes on a TWEET.
2. I participated in analyzing business for different new projects.
3. I built a POC for reading from media channels (TVs and Radio channels)
4. I built a solution that simulate Authentication Server functionality.
Some of projects I participated in are:
1. Enhance many existing e-Services for (Ministry of Interior) and (Ministry of Labor) on Qatar Portal
2. Add Visual Smart Card Functionality to Qatar Portal
3. Participated in building and integrating with Qatar IDP
Worked as a key member in three sections:
1. Operations.
2. Development.
3. Monitoring.
1. In Operation: I was responsible to maintain Hukoomi (Qatar e-Government) site applications by doing the following:
a) Solve customers’ issues: we have a CRM system that maintains all customers’ issues; I was responsible to check the incidents reported by the customers and take the corrective actions like refund and updating user's applications.
b) Analyze user repeated incidents; for every repeated incident, I should provide the root cause analysis, a fast workaround and a permanent resolution.
c) Provide incidents and Problems resolutions: for every repeated incident, I should develop/deploy the
permanent resolution.
2. In Development I was responsible to develop new services or functionalities; also, I was responsible to apply required enhancements.
3. In Monitoring I was responsible for providing analytical/ statistical information about Hukoomi transactions (Like successful transactions, failed transactions). Moreover, for failed transactions I was responsible to find failure root cause and failure resolution.
Finally, the applications come in many flavors. We have J2EE applications, Schedulers, Security technologies (Like SSO) and finally the SOA applications that built on top of IBM Process Server, IBM Message Broker and IBM Portal
This Company is a large IT services provider based in Jordan and have many offices in the Middle East.
Reporting to a Technical Manager, I was required to demonstrate strong skills in the following:
1. J2EE technologies and JSF.
2. Portlet Development using different platforms.
3. Old fashion Web Application
4. Webservices, XML and MQ.
5. WebSphere Portal 6.0, 6.1, WAS, RAD, WSAD, JSR-168 and JSR - 286
6. Application Deployment
7. Basic WAS and Portal administration
During my work with STS, they chooses me to relocate to Bahrain office to work as outsource developer with e-Government authority in Bahrain and I participated in the development of e-Government services on Bahrain Portal.
During this period and Because of my reliability, strong skills in analysis, design, accurate estimation and flexibility STS promoted me to a Senior J2EE Developer.
During my work in Bahrain with the e-Government, the e-Government achieved a leading records in the United Nations E-Government Survey 2010, Bahrain e-Government become one of the top 20 e-Government in the world and one of the top 3 in Asia and the first in the Middle East.
This Company is one of the biggest compliance management providers in USA, it provides the customer with web based applications for quality management, FDA Compliance Management and project management.
As a developer, I received a huge experience in product development and configuration. Reporting to a technical team lead and being part of a team of 12, I was responsible for:
1. Development of JSPs and servlets.
2. Development of java tools to easy the coworkers’ tasks.
3. Development of professional SQL and Jython (Python) scripts
4. I was responsible for many performance analysis tasks.
5. Direct customer support and requirements gathering.
