Key functions: -
• Ensuring design proposal meets with project objectives in respect of constructability, commissioning, H&S and operation & maintenance.
• Develop a commissioning phase, commissioning team and specification to define the contractor's responsibility with regard to new pumping station.
• Witness factory acceptance tests (FAT) including SAT test,
• Initiate and supervise site investigation and condition survey as part of design development.
• Ensure key stakeholders are fully informed of the findings and the proposed course of action.
• Assist with design review and works information development also ensure compliance with current regulations.
• Develop project schedule for review, carry out site supervision and participates in risk management meetings, proactively seeking to protect the customer and company's interests at every opportunity.
• Administer relevant conditions of contract, such as minor works & repairs contract, NEC family of contract, including the resolution of any early warnings and deal with any compensation event and feed back the outcome with any learning points.
• Positively challenge contractor's claim to variations, produce monthly contract report, chair monthly progress meetings, maintain risk register, agree monthly valuation, and final actual cost (FAC)
• Advise the principal contractor on early warnings in respect of alteration and variations to the works information.
• Frequent progress meetings to highlight and address issues on progress (programme Vs. actual) look out for any potential risks, financial status and H&S.
• Prepare progress and financial reports based on Earned Value Methods -EVM,
• Establishing safety as a priority, Make safety-minded decisions, Inspect the workplace routinely, Investigate incidents and chase corrective measures.
• Review the As-built drawings and equipment schedules, including construction completion test record sheets.
• Organize final contract completion report and feedback learning points.

Commissioning management:-
* I was also responsible for the supervision and the co-ordination of commissioning activities performed by civil and M&E contractors.
* Produce commissioning schedule, review the commissioning plan, control philosophy, P&ID's, including Functional test schedules, Electrical checklist, Mechanical checklists, O&M documentation and training.
* Working with key stakeholders to ensure that the proposed commissioning activities will have no impact on the existing plant and main contract activities.
* Ensure M&E contractor have sufficiently qualified resources and supervision available to carry out planned commissioning.
* Verifies that all equipment installed in connection with pumping station is completed and operational.
* Ensure pumping stations has been constructed in accordance with contract documents; including P&ID's, plans, specifications and agreed performance criteria.
* Agree P/S requirements for detailed testing procedures with pass/fail criteria
