Riyadh Metro Project/Riyadh
The project involves the construction of North and South lines TBM Tunnels
with a total length of 16, 5 km besides to piling, grouting and civil works as well
as installation of rails and walkways. Metro network covers most of the highly populated districts, government’s facilities, educational and commercials outlets.It consist of six metro lines spanning a total length of 176 kilometers, with 85 stations. The project costed $22.5 billion to build.
In July 2013, the Saudi government announced $23.5bn of contracts, broken into three parts. American construction giant Bechtel Corp heads a group which won a $9.45 billion contract to build lines 1 and 2, and most of the track will be mainly underground. Its partners include Germany\'s Siemens Aktiengesellschaft and US-based AECOM. Line 3, the longest at 40.7km, built by the Salini Impregilo Group leader of an international consortium, which includes Ansaldo STS (Italy), Bombardier (Canada), Larsen & Toubro (India) and the local Saudi contractor Nesma. A consortium led by Spain\'s Fomento de Construcciones Y Contratas, and including France\'s Alstom Transport, which supply the rolling stock, and South Korea\'s Samsung C&T Corp, won a $7.82 billion contract for lines 4, 5 and 6, which includes 25 stations. The contract is the biggest construction award for a Spanish company. Project is expected to be completed within five years.
Prince Salman Bin Abdul Aziz, Emir of Riyadh region announced that plans are under way to build Riyadh Metro.
In 2004, the French consulting firm Semaly and the Middle East engineering firm Dar Al-Handasah were granted the contract, which covers the preliminary measures for the construction of Riyadh Metro.

Conduct and/or Participate in Client's safety audits for Contractor and Sub
Contractor. Perform Risk Assessment as directed by Client's Senior Safety
Engineer.
* Review the contract documents for each Construction Package in respect of Safety requirements and procedures and
advise the Construction Manager of any deficiency.
* Review and advise the Project Director/Manager on site safety organizations and key personnel CVs as submitted by the
Contractors. Review Safety Procedures as submitted by the Contractors and ensure implementation is in compliance with
Contract requirements. Review Inspection Test Plans as submitted by the Contractors and ensure compliance with safety
requirements.
* Ensure all activities on site are in compliance with safety procedures in respect of the format signed off by Contractor’s Safety
Officer. Ensure Contractor’s Safety Staff on site are adequate and report to the Project Director in case of shortfall.
* Review Contractor’s safety records and documents to ensure major construction equipment is maintained
regularly. Ensure Contractor’s Safety Training for Site Labourers is regularly maintained.
* Ensure Contractor’s Labourers on site are following safety procedures and report to Project Director in case of deficiency.
* Closely monitor site activities on a daily basis issuing non-compliance reports where necessary and informing Project
Director/Manager. Participate in weekly meetings and monthly executive meetings.
* Coordinate with other HSE Managers to ensure that HSE policy is implemented by Contractors.
