Worked as Program Safety Manager at MOTC’s Public Bus Infrastructure Program (involving 4 large bus depots, 08 bus stations, & 06 Park & Ride Facilities, 02 BRT Stations, and more than 2500 Bus Stops/Shelters. The Bus Depots involve construction of bus parking for electrical buses, workshop buildings with maintenance bays, Service Facilities, Multi-Story Accommodation Buildings, Dining Buildings with Convenience Services, Indoor Recreational Buildings, Mosques, Administration Buildings, Operation Control Centers and other ancillary buildings and infrastructure. The eight Bus Stations Construction include a terminal building, bus bays for boarding and alighting, canopy shading, sub-station, and landscaping. Construction of Park & Rides include car parking with canopy shading, security building, entrance gate canopy, utility buildings and ticketing booths.
Prior to start working at MOTC’s Public Bus Infrastructure Program I have completed a number of Roads & Infrastructure Projects (QS036-P01, P02, P03 & P04; QS016-P01, P02, P03 & QS057; QS028-P01/P02/P03) whilst working as HSE Manager for AECOM at PWA’s “Local Roads & Drainage Program-LRDP”.. The LRDP Program consists of number of Construction Packages involving construction of 3-lane dual carriage ways, open cut and micro tunneling sewerage, surface & ground water networks projects., electrical substations, bridges, various underground utilities, relocation of transmission towers, traffic diversion/management plans etc. where I lead a team of 20 Safety Advisors.
My responsibilities include, but not limited, to the following:
• Providing advice, guidance and support to all personnel including Directors, Managers, Supervisors and Engineers at all levels on all matters relating to Safety, Health and environment in the workplace.
• Implementing the strategy for Safety, Health and environmental compliance in all locations in the region.
• Ensuring that Safety, Health and environment resources are managed in the best continuing interests of the company.
• Setting realistic objectives, goals and targets while enrolling all personnel into the process.
• Developing and maintaining excellent communications with all levels of staff providing advice, guidance, support and management assistance in a timely and quality manner.
• Monitoring policies, procedures, programs, and standards effecting construction safety at multiple projects.
• Engaging in active personnel development while assisting project resources in their individual development. Communicating effectively with external bodies (SH&E Authorities, Local National and International Authorities, Clients’ Representatives, Contractors etc. ensuring a coordinated and compliant approach to SH&E Management.
• Planning, scheduling, developing, and delivering SH&E Trainings for project staff as well as contractors.
• Plan, schedule and conduct SH&E Audits, Inspections; prepare reports and follow-up for timely completion of actions.
• Participate and lead OH&S Incident investigations
• Collecting and analyzing SH&E statistical data and writing technical reports. Maintaining compliance with governmental regulatory agencies.
