Observed and took part in the testing of high power transformers ranging from 25kVA to 1000kVA. Tests were routine and type tests.
Testing of CT`s, PT`s, Relays (Overcurrent, Differential & Distance) and CB`s etc.
Testing of the transmission cable`s insulation and its strength.
Carried out transformer fuse`s cutout pullout tests.
Carried out CB tests for vacuum, oil and SF6 breakers.
Understood the system installed on field. i.e. LV(132kV) and the HV(220kV) side of the substation.
Learnt about GIS switchgears and its advantages as well as applications.
Learnt maintenance routine of the protection equipment. On field as well as from the panel side.
Understood the line diagrams and their application on the actual system.
Dealing with load shedding schedules and maintaining their records.
Communicating with the other substations if any problem occurs in the system and try to identify and remove it at the earliest.
