Design HVAC-R for a 5000m2 Congress Hall • Heat Load Calculations Performed detailed cooling and heating load calculations considering occupancy density, lighting loads, equipment loads, building envelope, solar gain, and ventilation requirements. • Occupancy & Fresh Air Calculations Calculated required fresh air rates based on ASHRAE standards and local codes, taking into account high occupancy levels and event-based usage patterns. • Airflow & Ventilation Design Designed supply, return, and exhaust airflow rates to ensure proper air distribution, thermal comfort, and indoor air quality. • Duct Sizing & Air Distribution Designed and sized ductwork using friction loss and velocity methods to achieve balanced air distribution and low noise levels. • Equipment Selection Selected appropriate AHUs, FCUs, chillers, and ventilation units based on calculated loads and operational requirements. • Chilled Water / DX System Calculations Calculated chilled water flow rates, pipe sizing, pressure drops, and pump head requirements. • Diffuser & Grille Selection Selected supply diffusers and return grilles to ensure proper air throw, coverage, and comfort in large open spaces. • Acoustic Considerations Considered noise criteria (NC levels) and applied acoustic treatments suitable for a congress / auditorium environment. • Control Strategy & Zoning Developed zoning and control strategies for efficient operation during different event scenarios. • Energy Efficiency & Compliance Ensured design compliance with local authority requirements, energy codes, and sustainability standards. • Coordination with Other Disciplines Coordinated HVAC layouts with architectural, structural, electrical, and AV teams.
