My role with Pak-Arab Refinery (PARCO) requires implementation and development of new maintenance strategies for electrical systems with continuous improvement ensuring compliance with IMS requirements, HSEQ policies and organization’s procedures. I have got operation, maintenance, repair, testing and troubleshooting experience of medium voltage (MV) 11kV, 6kV, 3.3kV & low voltage (LV) 400V & 110V electrical systems including:
- Induction Motors & Control Centers (MCC)
- Switchgear / Circuit Breakers & Electrical Controls
- Power Transformers
- UPS & D.C Chargers
- Diesel Generators
- Variable Frequency Drives
- Underground Cables
- Cathodic Protection
- Power System Protection
- CTs, PTs, testing equipment, etc.
Key Contributions
- Supervised the execution of operation, maintenance and troubleshooting activities for all electrical systems & equipment as per maintenance requests.
- Protection Relay Coordination studies of whole distribution network (including MV/LV) in Etap to ensure system’s reliability.
- Power system analysis including Load Flow, Short Circuit, Motor Starting, Arch Flash, Cable Ampacity and Relay coordination studies of whole plant in Etap ensuring the system reliability and integrity to meet departmental objective.
- Planning & execution of maintenance activities and rectification of discrepancies during major Turn Around of the Refinery in year 2012.
- Successful completion of UPS & DC chargers overhauling project in coordination with M/s. Gutor Switzerland representative; the manufacturer of the equipment.
- Inspection, testing & commissioning of electrical switchgears, induction motors, transformers, UPS & DC chargers etc. for 02 no. newly installed plant units.
- Design and implementation of Auto Transfer Scheme (ATS) & Manual Transfer Scheme (MTS) between emergency diesel generators and electric company (WAPDA).
- Preparation of electricity bill verification, equipment failure, power failure, power consumption, Incident and feedback reports.
- Developed new Preventive and Corrective maintenance plans, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Job Safety Analysis (JSA) to ensure continual improvement.
Joined VAIL as lead project engineer to carryout Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) studies to ensure asset integrity of oil & gas organizations.
Experience:
• Statistical analysis of maintenance histories of Murphy Oil Corporation Malaysia offshore platforms equipments to assess reliability.
• Development of maintenance strategies based on Failure Mode Effect Analysis (FMEA).
• Development & implementation of engineering solutions for chronic problems.
• Preparation of detailed Single Line Diagrams, Schematic Diagrams and Cable Schedules.
• Development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in compliance with safety, responsibilities and technical excellence.
• Categorization of plant equipments and development of their functional locations.
• Assistance to maintenance engineers, electricians, instrument technicians, planners and supervisors on complex electrical and instrument repairs and troubleshooting methodologies.
• Review and development of organo-grams for effective control of plant operation and maintenance activities in order to maximize the production.
• Recommendations for maintenance frequencies and optimal stock level availability of spares & consumables.
As fresh graduate, I joined DESCON to learn engineering practices and develop skills as a professional.

Completed degree with Honors i.e. obtained more than 75 % marks in every semester without any supplementary exams.
