I worked as a Contract Administrator on an airport project with a Total Value of AED 600 Million in Dubai. Duties include but not limited to:
a) Administer and supervise with regards to Contract monitoring, Contract administration and compliance with the Contract
b) Review of all variations claims received from the Contractor for validity
c) Provide input with regards to the award of an Extension of Time to the Contractor
d) Develop and prepare regular reports on the status of contracts, claims and variations
e) Drafting of all contractual letters in response to contractual issues raised by the Contractor
f) Ensuring compliance with the Conditions of Contract by the Contractor
g) Administer the Employers change management procedure
h) Review of Payment Certificates and Variation cost proposal after completion by the Employers Consultant Quantity Surveyors
My roles and responsibilities were as follows:
a) Seconded to an MEP Subcontractor in order to prepare EOT claims to be submitted to the main contractor for the 3 schools project.
b) Reviewing of the MEP Subcontractors standard form of contract, as well as contractual procedures and provided recommendation on improvements.
c) Seconded to a Main Contractor in order to prepare EOT claims to be submitted to the Employer, as well as review submitted EOT claims from subcontractors for the Umm Al Quwain Hospital project also reviewed submitted claims from the Subcontractors on variations/claims and provided recommendations.
d) Seconded to an MEP Subcontractor in order to assist the lawyers preparing the case for the Masdar City project.
e) Project Management and Cost Management of the office fit out jobs.
f) Reviewed project documentation and provided contractual advice to the Employer for the La Fontana Residences Project.
My Roles and Responsibilities were all Pre and Post Contract Quantity Surveying duties including but not limited to :
a) Preparation of cost plans at the different stages of design.
b) Preparing Bills of Quantities, drafting of preliminaries, preambles and contract conditions.
c) Formulating or implementing procedures on tendering and contractual arrangements for main or sub-contracts.
d) Preparing of Prequalification documents of prospective contractors.
e) Assisting the Engineer on the award of both time and cost for EOT Claims submitted by the Contractors.
f) Advising on contractual related matters using FIDIC forms of contract.
g) Preparation of Tender Document.
h) Examining and verifying pricing of tender documents, etc., and adjusting where erroneous
i) Preparing Tender evaluation reports with recommendation.
j) Assessment of Monthly Interim Valuations submitted by Contractors.
k) Agreeing and finalising all sub-contracts and adjusting against provisional sums.
l) Evaluation of variations and claims received from the Contractor.
m) Preparation and presentation of monthly cost reports.
n) Reporting on, evaluating and negotiating contractual issues; contract correspondence; attending site meetings.
o) Surveying, measuring and recording site information.
p) Assisted in the preparation of RFP’s for new projects that the company was invited to tender for.

e) Attending and providing input in Value Engineering meetings with the Project Consultant team in order to obtain budget.
f) Preparation of Tender Document.
g) Adjudicating tenders and preparing tender reports with recommendations for award for Target Cost Subcontractors.
h) Evaluating or verifying fluctuations in cost under any applicable contract price adjustment provisions including foreign exchange fluctuations.
i) Preparation and presentation of monthly cost reports.
j) Analysing contract prices relative to the cost recording methods.
k) Evaluating submission of variations by Main Contractor and negotiating final value thereafter.
