Company Profile: King Abdulaziz Medical City in Riyadh commenced its operations in May 1983. Since then, it has continued expanding, while providing services for a rapidly growing patient population in all of its catchments areas. King Fahad National Guard Hospital has evolved to be part of the King Abdulaziz Medical City with many other prominent medical centers.

Highlights
• Explored the market and identified alternative solutions for spare parts that were unavailable with manufacturers or their authorized dealers.
• Suitably remodeled control devices to meet specific requirements of the hospital, which were not replaced by the manufacturer / authorized service agents, thereby saving capital expenditure (new machine costs).

Key Responsibilities
• Prepare preventive maintenance schedule along with check lists for all equipment based on manufacturers’ maintenance manuals and recommendations.
• Ensure that preventive maintenance work is carried out as per check lists and records are maintained in equipment-wise history cards.
• Review inventory of stock items of spare parts and consumables on periodic basis as per inventory policy and prepare indents for approval to procure as per the purchasing procedure.
• Prepare indents for non-stock spare parts of high-value with unpredictable requirement pattern for management approval allowing sufficient lead time for procurement.
• Arrange repair of spare parts in workshop or through authorized service centres after approval of repair costs and arrange testing on receipt.
• Supervise preventive maintenance and breakdown maintenance activities and guide the technicians, as and when required, to ensure that work is carried out as per defined procedures complying with safety requirements.
• Inspect installation of refrigerators, ice machines, freezers, air conditioning plants, cooling towers, compressors, pumps etc. by the suppliers’ technicians as per the process recommended by the manufacturers.
• Oversee commissioning and testing of new air conditioning and refrigeration equipment conducted by suppliers’ technicians along with testing of old equipment by in-house technicians; maintain appropriate testing records.
