 Develop, establish and maintain the Project Quality Plan (PQP) (including periodic review) and monitor compliance with the PQP within the project.
 Develop and maintain a good working relationship with the company QA and QC personnel.
 Initiate and implement project specific procedures and other documents, as may be required, in consultation with other department/ disciplines.
Ensure that all contractor personnel, (and subcontractor/Vendors, if any), on the project are fully aware of the requirements of the Project Quality Plan, with respect to their area of responsibilities and where necessary to provide “Quality Training” to redress any noted deficiency.
Establish and maintain a controlled register (Total Document Register) of all relevant Project Documentation.
Ensure in conjunction with the project manager that personnel are working with the latest versions/revision of the Project Documentation.
 Monitor all project activities are carried out in accordance with Project Quality Control Plan and ITPs.
Ensure that all the quality documents/records/test results are properly filed in the appropriate section of Quality Record filing system and /or overall project filing system.
Ensure that any identified non-conformance to the specified worksof whatever nature, is handled and closed out in accordance with the appropriate procedure as per project requirement.
 Develop a master audit schedule and arrange execution of the audits to the schedule requirements.
 Action/follow up the audit findings, (in conjunction with the Project Manager and QA Manager) and ensure with respect to audit the close-out of all outstanding action points.

Materials Engineer at Halcrow (Consulting Engineers & Architects) Ltd.

The project includes construction of highways and highway structures, potable water, irrigation distribution systems, wastewater system and pumping station, surface and ground water drainage system, electrical substations, telecommunications and ELV duct network, district cooling and gas networking.

Responsible for:

Responsible for review the Materials Approval Submittals; submitted by contractor, comments and recommend for approval.
Attend factory/plant visit to review the supplier/manufacturer capabilities.
Daily and weekly checking of all construction material being used on site for compliance, availability and quality.
Arrange and monitor NDT, DT and in-situ testing for materials associated with concrete, soil, asphalt works.
Review and approve concrete mix design and asphalt mix design.
Involved in the thorough testing and finalisation of the concrete and asphaltic job mix designs and ensured that all materials are tested to the required specified frequencies.
Monitor the frequency and number of tests required for every operation, overview sampling and testing, maintain neat and accurate records.
Report any failing or “borderline” test results immediately to the Senior Resident Engineer and QA Manager.
Ensure all lab equipments are certified and calibrated.
Request 3rd party assessment when required.
Review the materials test results and reports submitted by the contractor.
Attend meetings on matters within my sphere of activities.

Project: Lusail Development: Marine, Earthworks and Site Preparation, Doha, State of Qatar.

Project Summary: The Lusail Development Project covers an area of about 35 sq km, north the Al-Qualifiya Lagoon in Doha. Filling and reclamation of coastal land and man made island, dredging and excavation, construction of edge treatment structure along the shoreline of the new coastal land and new island are the main activities.

Duties & Responsibilities:
Performed the role of team leader by managing and supervising the independent Laboratory of the Project.
Assign daily duties / responsibilities for the lab Engineer /technician.
Monitor and supervise the following lab activities.
a. Sampling of Materials.
b. In-situ testing like FDT, Plate load test.
c. In house testing for Soil and Rock materials, Concrete and its ingredient, Asphalt and its ingredient.
Expertise in developing JMF for Asphalt works.
Review, analysis and develop mix designs for higher structural grade concrete like C-40, C-50 and Self Compacting Concrete.
Responsible for preparing and authorizing the testing report.
Liaise with External Laboratory for 3rd party testing.
Co-ordinate with the Client, the main Contractor, and the Consultant regarding the testing process and its associated procedure.
Attend meeting within my scope of works.
Ensure the QMS is effectively implemented by conducting regular internal audits.
Ensure the tests are being carried out in accordance with Project Specification, QCS, International codes like BS, ASTM, DIN, and ACI.
Review the regular frequency test by statistical analysis.
