• Responsible for teaching the prescribe curriculum for the Westminster school-the British National Curriculum
• Planning and preparing courses and lessons
• Teaching students according to the level of need
• Setting and making work and giving guidance to students on how they may improve their efforts
• Assessing, recording and reporting on students academic development, progress and attainment of students
• Promoting the general progress and well being of individual students classes or groups of students assigned
• Providing guidance and advice to students on educational matters
• Make and keep reports on the personal and social needs of students
• Communicating and meeting with parents at Open days or by appointment
• Communicating with officials beyond The Westminster School such as the ministry of Education, GEMS or KHDA
• Participating in meetings arranged for the benefit of the students of The Westminster School
• Participating fully in appraisal and INSET meetings organised by GEMS or the school
• Participating as fully as possible in the extracurricular programmes at The Westminster School
• Maintaining good order both in classrooms and around the school
• Being responsible for various administration tasks such as registration, checking students diaries collation of the statistics, The School Council, when requested
• Assisting in the planning and organising of school events and function that may include for example inter house or school competitions, concerts, plays and prize days
• Supervising classes and students in cover arrangements
• Participating in examination invigilation duties and where necessary mark and papers
• Undertake professional duties and organisational tasks as reasonably delegated by the principal.
