I am currently working as a marine superintendent for the Egyptian drilling company which is a subsidiary of A.P. Moller Maersk Group. I manage the marine operations for a fleet of 7 offshore rigs, this includes, maintaining class certificates and associated inspections, flag state and port state inspections, rigmove planning, site assessment and location approvals.
Control all of the marine activities for the company
General Responsibilities:

The Assistant Marine Superintendent will, for all the Company's offshore rigs, both owned and managed, assist the Marine Superintendent, on all marine and general safety aspects. These duties will be closely coordinated with the Rig Superintendent and Operations Department Management.
In association with the Rig Superintendent, he shall liaise with the rig Flag Sate, Classification Society and other agencies required in order to obtain and maintain each rig's certification updated and valid.
The Assistant Marine Superintendent shall act as deputy to the Marine Superintendent and assume the duties of the Marine Superintendent during his absence.
Duties:

-review jack-up rig site assessments.
-along with Engineering Department, review naval architectural/ structural reports.
-overlook the marine side of the operation in cooperation with the Offshore Rig Superintendent.
-ensure that all governmental instructions and certificates are followed and kept up to date.
-ensure all safety measures are taken with regard to the marine operation.
-assist the Marine Superintendent/ Towmaster, in preparation of rig move documents.
- Review of inspection assignment documentation (technical aspects, inspection schedule, milestones, reporting)
- Review of quality plan and relevant procedures
- To perform surveys, in accordance with Bureau Veritas Rules and Regulations and other applicable standards.
- To ensure reporting in accordance with corporate requirements and timescales to achieve targets set for key performance indicators.
-Follow up for drawing review between client and head office.
-Follow up of shipyard and construction non-conformities.
