Liaison with management to take measures of fast tracking or Critical Path Crashing to expedite execution rate, as deemed necessary.
Mentored and trained junior engineers
Conducted projects feasibility study, initiate projects, review projects drawings/documentations and recommend necessary changes/amendments as per the international codes, standards and the best engineering practices. Verify contractors’ drawings and documents for compliance with the contract terms, conditions and specifications. Ensure/direct safe completion of works as per Company HSSE regulations. Supervise, and control telecom and instrument engineering activities and perform diagnosis and problem solving of highly sophisticated systems, such as SDH/DWDM nodes, SCADA/DSC, PA, PA/GA, Plant Paging Intercom, CCTV and Trunked Radio TETRA System. Plan future requirements in accordance with the latest developments. Conduct Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) as well as Site Acceptance Tests (SAT) and systems commissioning.
Manage Project Engineering, Procurement, and Construction and Commissioning activities throughout different project phases.
Familiar with the governing Project Procedures and Control standards.
Implemented Risk Analysis, Risk Assessment and ensuring adequate identification and mitigation of project risks.
Ensured a robust analysis of key project performance parameters, including evaluation of QA/QC, QMS meeting client requirements and satisfaction.
Management of key interfaces with contractors, including contractors’ performance against an established schedule/baseline with critical milestones.
Engaged with key contractor’s personnel in performance management discussion of project progress of engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning. Ensure that project is in-line with standards requirements and scheduled baseline.
Knowledge of wide range of refineries units, systems and equipment such as pipelines, mechanical, structural and subsequent ability to realistically assess project baselines, probability of time slip and QA & QC performance of various disciplines.
Represented the Company (KNPC) in major EPC projects as Modernization of Refinery Gas (MORG) Plants executed by Cegelec, MAFP, AGRP, GOD, Construction of New Oil Pier (the largest in the Middle East) executed by Hyundai. For the latter, I was commended and rewarded by the Deputy Managing Director where I saved to Company an approx. amount of KWD 350 thousand, through optimization and rationalization of designs.
In-depth knowledge of HSSE rules, regulations and standards with the ability to lead teams in tightly HSSE controlled environments as in petrochemical, mining and oil & gas industries.
Experienced in PC hardware and software as UNIX, C and C++ programming. Extensive knowledge of Microsoft packages: MS Projects, Excel, Access, Power Point. CAD, AutoCAD and Primavera P6 Software.
Knowledge of National Fire Protection Authority standards such as NFPA -70/72 and ISO 7240 - 19/16, Shell and KNPC standards.
Telecommunication and Electronics Engineer at Pro-Com Company, Australia, 1993-1994.
My Division was commended for its performance in hazardous environment of oil and gas, which required high performance and prompt response to problems.
Engaged in project management of Gas Turbine Power Plants, Main Station, Substations, PABX and Trunked Radios. There, I had my first Engineering Achievement of modifying the Design of Generator excitation system of one of the Gas Turbine, by further decreasing the Firing Angle of Thyristors in order to further increase the Excitation Current leading to the increase of HV to the required level.
