• Driving the company’s expansion program in respect of design, business strategy, human resourcing and commercial aspects of setting up Plastic Processing Manufacturing Plants around South Africa
• Establishing and running a subsidiary company, ReproPlast, with acquisition of a 13 000-square-metre factory premises, and leading to a complete ‘greenfield’ project for setting up infrastructure and business model (OSH Act Appointment 16.2)
• Serving as operational manager of ReproPlast (Pty) Ltd, working closely with select supply chain partners in compounding material science and cradle-to-grave solutions to bring upcycled products to market
• Managing injection moulding/material development (extrusion) facilities with annual capacity of around 12 000 tons each, and an independent logistic network throughout Southern Africa and sub-Asian markets
• Successfully delivering numerous projects through deploying extensive expertise in rigid thin wall packaging solutions, high-speed packaging, technical moulding, injection moulding machines, automation solutions and mould design as well as manufacturing plant infrastructure design and implementation
• Executing full electricity power upgrade of facility, infrastructure, management and commissioning from 0.5kVa supply to 6MVA supply; liaising with council administration; designing and building substation buildings; coordinating and implementing MV switchgear and complete LV reticulation throughout factory
• Implementing both chilled and ambient water reticulation schemes within factory for 1200kW chilled water capacity, including thermal storage buffer tanks, full pump sizing and pipe sizing, cooling tower sizing and cleaning/dosing water systems
• Installing compressed air services infrastructure throughout plant, with a 10bar delivery system with pressure vessel inline; implementing air drying equipment
• Delivering raw material SILO storage with a 60T polymer storage silo and full SCADA control, and polymer supply solutions including individual material handling on each injection moulder via a centralised vacuum system coupled with gravimetric dosing units
• Designing warehouse VNA (Very Narrow Aisle 2m) racking solution with 4500 pallet position and 12, 5m-high heavy-duty racking system; providing an in-rack independent fire sprinkler system involving full design of fire protection water tanks coupled with rain-water-harvesting sub tanks
• Designing and building upgrades to factory facility premises, to improve production/logistic flows
• Commissioning and rebuilding injection moulding machinery including top European machines and over 30 machines with clamping forces from 120T - 1300T
• Setting up full material compounding facility to provide polymer science solutions, mainly polyethylene and polypropylene, and complete pelletizing plants with both single screw and twin screw machinery
• Establishing raw material (recycled) supply chains and cradle-to-grave solutions in respect of both post-industrial waste and post-consumer waste
• Sourcing and developing local and international clientele for industrial plastic waste reticulation products

Started with the company as a trainee engineer to implement systems and procedures, however within the first year took the opportunity to launch the company independently and explore new markets in Europe. I was actively involved in prototyping, design and manufacturing routines along with the financial management of the company. Addition to these duties I was also heavily involved with problem solving and operations of the mass production of thin walled packaging as carried out by the holding company PailPac Pty Ltd. Project managed various turnkey solutions with European based supply chain, tasked with design flow, cost analtysis and final sign off commisioning of various tooling (injection moulds), automation (IML labelling, stackers, etc) and macinery (Fast cycling injection moulders). Under Topline Tooling I was also in charge of the engineering workshop assisting in the maintenance of the tooling, machinery and automation systems for the daily activities of the holding company PailPac.
