At the beginning of each class, we hold a Quranic circle where we review the short surahs
weve memorized, helping to reinforce their learning. If we introduce a new surah, I play it
aloud and then recite it myself to assist with memorization. We also focus on reviewing the
letters, including long and short vowels, where we emphasize the shape and sound of each
letter through repetition. For new letters, I utilize slideshow presentations that include
engaging stories, which helps students connect with the concepts and relate them to their
daily lives. I encourage them to write the letters on the board to solidify their learning.
To further engage our students, Ive incorporated puppets, toys, and role-pons. We use
colourful cards, and I often incorporate movement and play to facilitate information
retention.
