Assignments & responsibilities:
o Developing, and maintaining environmental management system - EMS
and performing Environmental Audits.
o Ensure proper implementation and compliance with Environmental plans
and procedures.
o Preparation and site implementation of construction environmental
management plan - CEMP.
o Developing, maintaining and updating construction waste management
plan - CWMP and ensuring its implementation at site.
o Preparation and implementation of waste segregation plan and
Environmental emergency response plan.
o Preparing monthly Environmental reports for client and GAMEP.
o Arranging training sessions on Environmental awareness.
o Coordinating with approved contractor for regular pest controls and
disinfection and at site.
o Submitting weekly/monthly reports to client on pest control and
disinfection at site.
o Monthly site audits to confirm contractors/sub-contractors and site
personnel compliance to the requested CEMP terms and ensuring
continuous adherence to Environmental requirements.
o Conducting investigation of environmental incidents occur at site.
o Prepare, review, and update environmental investigation reports as
required.
o Suggesting preventive measures to avoid environmental incident
recurrences.
o Obtain, update and maintain Environmental permits and standard
operating procedures.
o Analyze scientific data and do quality-control checks.
o Ensure monitoring of air quality by using portable particulate monitor to
measure PM2.5 and PM10 particulates of different pollutants (e.g. CO,
CO2, NO2, VOC, SO2, H2S)
o Ensure proper monitoring of vibration & noise levels by analyzing the
data at monitoring stations.
o Monitor the progress of environmental improvement programs at site.
o Conducting field work to inspect work-site operations to ensure
compliance with environmental regulations.

Assignments & responsibilities:

o Reported to HOD for Environmental Compliance Assurance and responsible to assist, in administering the Environmental Management System and environmental compliance standards in the yard.
o Responsible for monitoring and assessing environmentally hazardous situations and developing measures to assure environment protection.
o Assisted the Project Manager in ensuring that all activities and processes complying with the environmental legislation and regulations to achieve environment friendly work site.
o Developed, updated and reviewed environmental risk assessments
o Investigated all Environmental incidents in order to recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrences.
o Prepared, maintained and updated all relevant Environmental reports and Environmental training records.
o Prepared weekly briefing on frequent Environmental issues for worker’s awareness.
o Inspections and Monitoring of both terrestrial and marine environment, water, sediment, air (emissions, weather data, noise & vibration) quality parameters to verify that yard activities do not infringe upon environmental sensitive areas and that the recorded levels are within the permissible set levels.
o Ensured proper segregation of all waste material at segregation yard for inert, hazardous and non-hazardous wastes.
o Coordinated with designated and approved contractors for safely removal of sewage and waste for final disposal at designated places.
o Keeping record of consignment notes for hazardous wastes.
o Monitoring of site equipment/plant for any leakage/spillage, and ensure preventive measures e.g. drip tray, bund walls.
o Highlighted environmental concerns to Project management for their support to rectification of issues and required resources.
o Ensured vessels undergoing repairs or conversion are equipped with required equipment for emergency cases e.g. spill kits, oil containment booms and oil spill dispersants - OSD etc.
o Random checks of all yard and vessels for hazardous environmental conditions, e.g. stagnation of water, waste accumulation etc.
o Ensured to have letter of indemnity for fuel oil bunkering and availability of emergency spill containment kits while oil bunkering is in progress.
o Ensured proper handling and disposal of hazardous waste as a result of radiographic activities.
o Assisted in promotional activities to cultivate environmental awareness among the workforce.
o Ensured the Gas-free compartments, tanks or pipelines for flammable vapors by use of gas detectors.

o Provide technical support in developing and implementing environmental programs in industries.
o Generate environmental reports as per federal and state regulations.
o Review and recommend improvements to existing environmental programs to reduce environmental damages.
o Oversee waste management and pollution control activities.
o Perform regular site surveys for environmental compliances.
o Assess potential environmental risks and develop mitigation plans.
o Provide assistance and job trainings to team members as needed.
