Managing many projects (drilling rigs, Workover rigs and civil works) by establishing, managing, implementing & monitoring all their safety aspects with a team of QHSE Advisors, HSE officer & Fleet coordinator working under my supervision.
Set up relevant Objectives and annual plan for continual improvements.
Coordinate and liaise with local authorities to guarantee Legal requirements are met.
Promote QHSE Management System by personal example and positive leadership.
Review Company activities and ensure compliance with OH&S Policy, Plans, Processes? Procedures & SOPs.
Review daily, weekly and monthly QHSE reports and statistics ensuring the Annual plan’s objectives are on the right path.
Make extra sure that workers safety behaviors are getting improved through company trainings program & proportionally do analyzes to secure such program's effectiveness.
Lead risk assessments and studies and ensure results are addressed as work is executed.
Carry out OH&S internal Audits as per Annual plan & establish action plan for improvement.
Play a part in procedures and plans developments.
Conduct different pieces of training for rig staff as well supervisors and ensure effectiveness.
Create rig move & rig up SWMSs & conduct HAZWOPER for different drilling & workover operations. Conduct rigs intervals inspections & audits Monitor and review SOPs and JSAs.
- Conduct Dalma employee and rig visitors induction and record copies.
- Conduct in house training for rig personnel
- Report all accidents, incidents and near misses
- Monitor stop system. Keep updated log of stop cards on daily basis; follow up for
close out of any outstanding issues in stop cards.
- Conduct and monitor rig safety inspections; camp safety and health inspections
- Ensure all lifting accessories and appliances have valid color coding and inspected
periodically; records of inspection kept on rig site and GLG updated.
- Regular inspection of all safety equipment is carried out (fire ext, gas detectos,
SCBAs, smoke alarms, eye wash and emergency showers, mast for drops objects, hand rails, crane, vehicles, forklift and ambulance, ladders etc.)
- Ensure that waste management and waste disposal is carried out according to
company procedures.
- Hold weekly safety meetings with rig workforce and keep records on rig site
- Ensure preshift and TBT meetings are held on rig site
- Prepare and send end of month QHSE reports to base management
- Ensure that minimum stock of PPE is kept on rig site and PPE policy is respected by
all employees
- Make all employees familiar with emergency repsonse plan & conduct regular
different emergency drills
- Make rig crews aware of important Safety tools such as haazard hunt, JSA, TBT, stop system and encourage them to take part in them.
- Carry out product line visitors’ inductions
- Prompt reporting of any H&S Related incidents & fulfilment of Emergency Response
Plan
- Prepare safety alert for any H&S incident / near misses reported within the product
line
- Make sure that Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) are worn, suitable, and
checked periodically for replacement if necessary
- Familiarization of product line personnel in the safe start, JSA and Risk assessment
training programs
- Conduct, and document Monthly QHSE meetings for product line personnel in
addition to Tool Box Talks (TBT)
- Make sure that HSE Inspections performed as per QHSE department plan, Internal
Audit procedure fulfilled, and department related Internal & External audit findings
are closed
- Carry out, communicate, and update hazard identification activities, risk assessments
and JSA’s for product line activities
- Ensure that Periodic fire extinguishers, fire detectors/alarms are checked periodically
- Ensure that Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) are available and explained to all
employees working with hazardous chemicals, translated into Arabic and French
(verbally).
- Plan, Organize, Carry out, and record emergency drills within the product line
- Ensure that Continuous lifting equipment inspections with checklists filled and records
kept
- Make sure Permit To Work (PTW) System fulfilled within the product line
- Carry out Noise Assessment where applicable
- Participate in HAZOP & HAZID studies
- Ensure that Waste Segregation takes place and employees are encouraged to do so
and Waste disposal is done according to company procedures
- Timely reporting of Environmental statistics on monthly basis
I have completed unit B in January 2018 and hopefully I will complete the rest three units in July 2019.
IOSH Managing Safely gives managers and supervisors the knowledge and skills they need to manage health and safety within their teams. Upon successful completion of the course and assessment, students are awarded a Managing Safely certificate from the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) – the world’s largest health and safety membership organisation.
The NEBOSH International General Certificate (IGC) covers the principles relating to health and safety, identification and control of workplace hazards and the practical application of this knowledge. The IGC syllabus takes a risk management approach based on best practice and international standards, such as the International Labour Organisation (ILO) codes of practice. Local laws and cultural factors may form part of the study programme where relevant and appropriate. This qualification helps me a lot to understand Health and safety management systems, risk management approach and how to apply your knowledge effectively in the workplace.
This course what my first window to the HSE world where I got 4 months training from HIGHFILED accridated trainer, however this was my first qualification that helps me to find a job in the HSE field.
This was two years and half theoretical and practical training about all oil and gas machineries types, operating principles as well as their maintenance.
