To conduct walk-through and visually assess the safe and efficient maintenance and operation of the physical structure(s) of the hotel, all mechanical, electrical, refrigeration, plumbing, H.V.A.C. systems and any other related equipment
To establish and maintain effective Energy Management, Programmed Maintenance and Preventive Maintenance programs, and conducting special training for other operating departments on the safe and efficient use of equipment and energy in the hotel
To maintain organized and efficient administrative and filing systems for the timely and accurate handling of correspondence reports, requisitions for purchase, and other administrative requirements of the department
To maintain a well-defined, and organized system within the workshop for the inventory, maintenance, and storage of all tools, products, materials, and equipment necessary to execute the required activities of the department
To immediately be available and report to the hotel in the event of any hotel emergency which necessitates the skills and expertise. E.g. such emergencies may include, but not be limited to fires, plumbing, power or other equipment failures, floods, lightning, earthquake, or other disasters of similar nature and magnitude
To administer and control implementation of maintenance contracts and evaluate constantly their effectiveness and needs
To develop, implement and direct all Emergency programs; ensure all equipment is maintained, conduct inspections & drills, ensure compliance with all codes and regulations, train all employees and maintain accurate records to ensure a safe environment which protects the assets, guests and employees
To maintain the hotel generator and ensure it is tested frequently so as to ensure it is fully functional in the case of an emergency
To be the caretaker of the hotel’s Capital Expenditure budget, by preparing it with assistance from other departments and the Director of Finance, and assisting departments in ensuring they advise and complete their relevant projects in a timely manner
