In addition to teaching responsibility:
- Monitor and evaluate teaching and learning in accordance with the college policy, including lesson observation, scrutiny of student work and quality of examinations.
- Oversee and support the professional conduct of my staff in the department. Monitor and advise staff on appropriate professional conduct.
- Ensure the effective management and deployment of teaching/support staff and physical resources within the department.
In addition to teaching responsibility:
- Ensure the development and enhancement of the teaching best practice.
- Ensure the production, evaluation and revision of schemes of work and subject syllabuses to meet the needs of individual students.
- Responsible for ensuring that the Basic Instructor Technique Course (BIT) is continually developed to reflect the highest standards. Including the continual evaluation of post and present instructors.
- Responsible for the preparation of classrooms with modern technology and computerize the education process. In cooperation with the British, French and American embassies.
- Prepare the departmental Strategic Plan according to a timetable defined by PFTC.

This course (160 hours) provides the basic teaching skills needed to function as a basic entry level instructor. The course also provides an overview of the current methods and theories of training developments and instructional techniques. The course covers the following subjects (Instructor roles, Qualities of an Instructor, Communication Process, Lesson Plan Outlining, Learning Theory, Group Dynamics, Questioning Techniques, Instructional Methods, Use Multimedia, Technical Training Organization, Instructional System Development (ISD), Course Control Documents, Prepare Lesson Plans, Student Measurement, Identify Differences Related to Student Motivation, Identify Adjustment Mechanisms, Counseling Interview, Fundamentals of Counseling, Counselors attitudes and skills, Referral Process ).
