I am currently working as a freelance senior graphic designer for Prestige by Propertyfinder.ae magazine. I am in charge of designing the cover, lifestyle, shopping, news, travel features and liaising with printers, writers and sales team.
As a Senior Graphic Designer at Swiss Media Group, I manage a small design team. As the chief-designer I was responsible for three luxury magazines: Equestrio Arabia, SWR (Stuff Worth Reading), Prestige by Propertyfinder.ae, and our annual supplements including HorsePower, Passport and EquiLuxe.
The following are some of my many responsibilities:
- Design and create a wide variety of graphic design and promotional material.
- Meet clients to discuss their needs, objectives, and budgets for designs.
- Produce designs for both in-house and external communications, whilst involving clients
- Develop design briefs.
- Create integrated design work for both online and on line.
- Explain design ideas and concepts to clients and colleagues.
- Coordinate multiple publishing projects.
- Commission illustrators and photographers.
- Provide design support for websites and social media.
- Work on presentations, leafets, corporate identity, marketing materials, and banner designs.
- Produce accurate and luxury high-quality design work.
I worked as a Group Graphic Designer for ITP Publishing where I designed our monthly food magazine Gourmet, along with our bi-weekly celebrity and gossip flagship title Ahlan! Qatar. My responsibilities also included designing our annual supplements such as Hot100 People, Hot100 Restaurants & Bars, and the Ramadan Guide. Whilst at ITP, I liaised with the printers for production duties, photographers for our lifestyle features, and the sales/marketing team for advertisement and promotional material such as online banners, exhibitions stands, and corporate identity.
I was employed as an Editorial Designer for Archant to create editorial content for our London based regional magazines. My duties also included commissioning photographers and illustrators for our features and magazine covers.
As a Junior Graphic Designer at City AM Newspaper, my responsibilities included designing features, creating info graphics and graphs to assist stories that illustrate key business news in an exiting and aesthetically pleasing manner. I also at times, work on promotions and create adverts. As it is a small team I also did the picture research and production duties, which include creating print-ready PDF files and liaising with the printers.
I worked as a freelance Graphic Design for River Group Publishing, where I picture researched and created layout design for their Healthy & Healthy for Men Magazine.
