 Participates in the duties of firefighting and rescue team. Inspect, test and maintain fire and safety protection systems / equipment and lifesaving appliances.
 Performs fire watch activities and ensure compliance with the safety requirements during the work. Provide necessary assistance to the Supervisor as and when required.
 Performs preventive maintenances on various fires and safety equipment and conduct minor repair / maintenance works when required.
 Maintains all safety premises and store in good order. Carry out safety checks as and when instructed. Assist in cleaning sites after firefighting operations, drills or exercises.
 Attends and secure hot works as a fire watch when required. Participate as a safety watch during entry to confined spaces.
 Carry out flammable gas tests for hot works when required.
 Conducts preventive maintenance and periodical checks on Portable Fire Fighting Equipment.
 Participates in firefighting mock drills, search and rescue and lifesaving as an emergency member.
 Assist in Drill and Safety Training of onshore personnel. Participate in regular practical and theoretical training and simulated exercises of firefighting, search & rescue, etc.
 Carry out other administrative duties such as filing of correspondences and reports on fire & safety equipment maintenance, inspection, testing and inventory.
 Checks the received purchased safety material, check their status against issued order and store them in good order

 Assist in the development, implementation and maintenance of site Safety and Loss Prevention Program, including Safe Work Practices/Safe Job Procedures and the Site Emergency Response Plan

 Monitor the safety performance of all on-site workers to ensure that all workers on the site work safely

 Encourage and educate employees to take precautions and adhere to safety rules to protect themselves and the equipment they use from damage

 Identify and review various health and safety concerns specific to the work site and ensure construction site activities do not put non-construction site people outside of the site at risk

 Investigate all injuries, accidents and near misses. Identify the causes and advise on any improvement in safety standards that need to be made

 Review accident summary reports and take appropriate action when accident trends are unfavourable

 Ensure safety reports and data are collected and submitted to the General Superintendent as require

 Maintain up-to-date knowledge of and enforce OH&S legislation and codes of practice

 Provide internal or arrange external safety training to employees

 Administer the workplace hazardous materials information system ( WHMIS) training program

 Ensure MSDS of all controlled products on site are up-to-date and available to the workers at all times

 Act as a liaison with the government (OH&S), workers compensation board, ambulance services and hospitals, management, subcontractors and workers regarding aspects of health and safety on and off the job

 Ensure daily risk assessments are being conducted as per site policy

 Perform one audit each year to maintain valid Auditor status

 Coordinate and conduct the following according to site policy and OH&S legislation - Site orientations - Weekly Toolbox Safety Meetings - Safety inspections - Audits - Joint Work Site Health and Safety Meetings

 Update and display safety policies and pertinent information on the company bulletin board

 Advise on appropriate protective equipment and on the cost of implementing changes

 Maintain an inventory list of equipment purchased

 Establishing inspection schedules for all tools, major equipment, lifting devices and mobile equipment to ensure safe operating conditions and compliance with current regulations

 Assist injured workers in obtaining Modified Duties and administer the return to work policy

 LEAD BY EXAMPLE

 To assist the Security Officer in ensuring the safety and security of human beings, valuable materials, and classified documents pertaining to the premises.
 To efficiently supervise and manage the Security Personnel during his tenure.
 To train the Security Personnel in all security drills and security procedures laid down in the Standing Orders.
 To act as Liaison between the Security Unit and Administration Manager in the absence of the Security Officer.
 Maintain Liaison with the local Police Station, Fire Station and nearest Hospital.
 To deploy Security Guards during his Shift.
 To make periodic ‘Rounds’ of Sentry Posts to check alertness and compliance of Standing Orders.
 To periodically inspect serviceability of firefighting equipment and Fire Tenders.
 Responsible for monitoring and operating CCTV cameras and Alarm Systems.
 Inspect the log of entry and exit of personnel, materials, vehicles and stores at the commencement of his duty and at the end of his duty.
 Be totally accountable for all eventualities during his Shift.
