• Auditing project sites as well as functional departments and spotting sub-standard practices and recommending corrective & preventive measures and ensuring the compliance.
• Incident investigation and follow-up for corrective & preventive action from the execution team for assigned areas of responsibility.
• Developing the site specific HSE plan and ensuring its implementation by the project execution team.
• Ensuring Hazard and Risk Assessment/ Job Safety Analysis is done prior to start of activities and ensuring all control measures are in place in coordination with project execution team members.
• Carrying out COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health) assessment for hazardous substance and communicating the assessment results to the concerned person.
• Preparing traffic diversion plans in accordance with international practice and local traffic regulations and getting approval from the local authorities.
• Motivating Management and field staff to participate in the HSE function i.e. (TBT, Kaizen & Near Miss Reporting) and identifying & awarding safe person of the year.
• Interacting with Project Manager and team to comply with regulations stated in the labour law and Local regulations and Company’s / Projects HSE Plan in order to improve safety performance.
• Carrying out Noise level assessment in potentially noisy areas as well as Gas monitoring in deep excavation and trenches.
• Stopping any hazardous activity which is not complying with safety regulations in force.
• Conducting inspections of site, vehicle, equipment, staff accommodation, stores and catering facilities.
• Ensuring all HSE procedures laid down are followed by the site team
• Ensuring first aid facilities, Personnel Protective equipment are made available for use.
