As a Staff Grade Psychiatrist in Multidisciplinary team, I am responsible for delivery of medical module as per EIS (Early Intervention Services) guidelines. I provide comprehensive medical input in assessments of both mental and physical health of patients who are referred to EIS. I also provide regular reviews including risk assessments and plan effective interventions based on diagnostic formulations.
I also liaise with Cognitive Behaviour Therapist and Family therapists for delivery of these interventions where necessary. I liaise with GPs regularly with regards to physical health of the service users and closely monitor physical health by doing regular blood investigations and monitoring body mass index. I have the required training and expertise on assessment tools used in our service.
I provide my advice and support to my team colleagues and have provision for emergency slots in my job plan. I attend daily allocation meetings where discussion takes place on new referrals and feedback on assessment. In the weekly client review meetings, we discuss all patients on RED (i.e.patients with high risks and complex needs). I actively help in making robust care plans and attend regular CPA reviews. If required I also attend ward reviews of EIS in-patients and liaise with in-patient consultants. I actively attend complex case conferences and Multi-disciplinary meetings where professionals from different disciplines are involved or are invited for their input.
I am approved under section 12-2 of Mental Health Act and perform Mental Health Act assessments when required. I document my patient records on e-cpa (electronic notes) clearly, regularly and timely. I also correspond with GP's and other professionals via letters. I maintain complete confidentiality of all data of my patients along with GMC guidelines.
I have improved my skills of delivering psychopharmacological intervention in drug naive patients. I have improved my skills of risk assessments further.
