Rabigh II Refinery and Petrochemical project, Rabigh, Saudi Arabia
Client: Aramco Overseas and Sumitomo chemical.
This turnkey project includes 11 buildings (7 sub-station and 4 PIB’s) in HVAC scope.
Key responsibilities include;
• Leading a team of 2 Engineers + 2 Designers
• FEED Verification and preparation of Technical queries to client.
• Preparation of HVAC basic design philosophy, P&ID's, Control and Flow diagrams, Data sheets
and verification reports.
• Attending Kick-off meeting with client.
• Reviewing the Load calculations and equipment selection by the Engineers to be in-line with
ASHRAE and other applicable standards.
• Preparing HVAC Inquiry / technical specification for Vendors as per the preliminary design.
• Technical meeting with Clients.
• Weekly and monthly Project Progress reporting to Engineering manager.
• Allocating work to the Engineers and Designers.
• Preparation of Project deliverables with milestones.
• Attending Weekly Engineering meeting and discuss the various Issue of the Project.

Key responsibilities include;
• Site co-ordination and engineering with the client for our design approval, other construction
related activities and closure of punch list to obtain the mechanical completion certificate.

SENIOR PROJECT ENGINEER HVAC at Mitsubishi Heavy industries

NUON Power Plant: 1200 MW IGCC Power Plant, Netherlands.
Client: NUON Power
This is a Turnkey Project for MHI, including Design, Installation, Erection and Commissioning of 1200
MW IGCC power plant in Eemshaven, Netherlands. HVAC System is provided for 3 Turbine buildings,
3 Feed water pump buildings, Control building, Chemical storage, Air compressor, GIS buildings etc.
GULF JP NS & UT, Thailand.

This is also turnkey projects, which consists of 2 identical sites GNS and GUT each of 1600 MW,
which consists of various buildings which are supplied with Ventilation systems and Air conditioning
systems.

Mechanical & HVAC Engineer at Sofcon Consulting Engineering

Projects Involved, (Saudi Aramco Projects):
1) EWO-06C178: Upgrade Yanbu NGL Fire Training Ground and Replace Fire Training building.
The Job involved designing of HVAC systems for the new Fire training building and storage
facilities.
2) BI-10-00345: Khurais common facilities (buildings) Package 1.
The project has 2 packages, one with buildings and other plant facilities. My job involved basic
designing of HVAC systems for 12 buildings found in the utilities area.
3) BI-10-00209: Upgrade wastewater systems, Southern area Oil operations.
The Job involved designing of HVAC systems for the new chemical storage building, 2 nos.
Substations and guard house.
4) BI-10-00087: Upgrade JGP water & Spent caustic Systems, Ju’aymah Gas Plant.
The Job involved HVAC design and plumbing design for the new MBR building and waste water
treatment building.

Designing of the HVAC systems of a multi-storey building with complete detailed drawings of
the various parts involved like the ducts, ventilators, smoke dampers, fire dampers, grilles,
fittings, diffusers etc.,
▪ Input got from the client is the whole site layout, building layouts, architectural plan of the
building with the complete set of individual room details.
▪ Areas of each and every room are taken and the HVAC design is carried out according to the
needs.
▪ Calculations were done in ELITE HVAC software.
▪ Selection of each and every fixture such as diffusers, duct sizes, AHU’s is made and the layout
of the HVAC system is clearly drawn in AutoCAD.
▪ Output is of double line diagram according to the needs of the client.
▪ Diffuser schedules, temperature control notes and mechanical detail notes were clearly shown
as separate sheets.
▪ Detailing of pressure vessel (Autoclave) using the standard provided by the client (AS, AWS, API-
RP2standards).
▪ Detailing was done on primary basis where various details were done and the designing was
carried out based on those derived data.
▪ Assembly drawing was done using AutoCAD and exported to Microstation for utility purpose
