Being part of Liwa trading enterprises took my skills to the next level. It involved making
short-video commercials which I self-taught and improved. In addition, Working with more
than twenty different international brands not only in the UAE but also in the entire middle
east region that have different target audience had a major role in improving the quality
and focus of my work. It also enhanced my abilities to manage many tasks at the same time.
Furthermore, being the only graphic designer in the company increased my responsibilities
of which I showed excellent management skills as I handled them.
Not only I was exposed to working with different brands as a designer, but I was also enrolled
with my colleagues in brand marketing for distinct periods of time. This experience enhanced
my marketing knowledge and my management skills.
The following are the tasks I was responsible for while working for liwa trading:
• In-charge of represinting the graphics for many International Brands (Bhs, Blanco, Chranga,
Calvin Klein, Calvin Klein Jeans, Collezione, Disney Fashion By Liwa, Diva, Dwell, Gant,
Gocco, Izod, Lasenza, Lee, M&Co, Menbur, Nautica, OLYMP Premaman, Sinma, Smash,
Stellaz, TFN, Throttleman, Think Kitchin, Florsheim)
• Responsible for the ATL and BTL Campaigns for the brands in the UAE, GCC and North
Africa Regions. (Newspaper Ads and Magazine Ads)
• Interpreting the Brands Business needs and developing a suitable concept
• Conceptualizing and implementing cross promotion between the internal brands within
the group
• Localizing the logos of the new and existing brands and develop their identity Design
with new creative ideas for the brands.
• Handling various types of indoor and outdoor marketing techniques before the launch
of the brand (Store Hoarding, Escalator Branding, Flags, Digital Screens, Light Boxes,
Billboards, Lampposts, Street Furniture graphics, and Outdoor LED Screens)
• Creating all the graphics designs as per brand managers needs and following the brand
guidelines (loyalty cards, shopping bags, flyers, etc.)
• Creating the seasonal catalogs for specific brands
• Designing and preparing some of the New media graphics such as:
1. facebook ads
2. IPad Ads
3. email blasts, e-newslitters
4. updating the website images
• Preparing the MSS & ESS and the part sale materials such as:
o Window banners
o Window decals
o In-Store Signage
o In-Store Danglers
Taking the position as a graphic designer in Jewel arts advertising sharpened my infield
experience in which I was subjected to dealing with different colleagues of different
backgrounds and perspectives. The experience enhanced my team working skills as well as
my time management skills. Furthermore, being part of jewel arts team of designers exposed
my knowledge to printing materials and product installing procedures.
Working with jewel arts involved designing for different well recognized national brands
such as; Alfutaim retail arm, abbot nutrition, and IFA hotels and resorts not to mention many
other companies in the UAE. My job includes but was not restricted to the following:
• Took part in the Creative Department of a TTL Agency, Involved with ATL and BTL
Marketing and Communication services.
• Work with International Brands (Toys R Us, ACE hardware, Intersport, Karcher, Abbott
nutrition, IFA Hotels & Resorts, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Choithram, Monster high,
Elekta, pollypocket, Barbie, Hot Wheels, Fisher Price, Disney, Al Hamra village, Charanga,
WWE, cars, Scrabble, Al Hamra Mall, Hamleys toy store
• Creating and developing an artwork from visualization to the final design
• Coordinate with the suppliers to deliver the design to the clients in time
• Managing and supervising the installation team and coordinate closely with clients
making sure that the graphics are done perfectly (designs and applications)
• Coming up with design concepts that fit the client’s needs
• Presenting alternative design treatments
• Proofreading and preparing designs to be sent to publish & print.
• Solely Supervised and directed projects in the absence of the Art Director.
Working as a freelancer graphic designer enhanced my ability to understand different
clients’ mentalities. It created a special working atmosphere in which I was able to satisfy
the requirements proposed by the clients. Furthermore, dealing with clients from different
countries increased my knowledge regarding customers’ demands and how to attract
different tastes with different concepts. My responsibilities were as follows:
• T ake the brief from the client and understand the client needs
• Start planning the job process and prepare checklists and time tables
• Send a proposal based on the client inquiry and provide some previous work samples.
• T aking feedback from the client and agreeing with the client on a final proposal
• Send the files to the supplier and deliver it to the customer in time
