Maersk Line, Dubai - Customer Service Representative
Attending customer calls, solving cargo, vessel, Maersk web related problems. Undertaking and providing feedback on emails sent regarding disputes. Preparing daily reports and files on various vessel deadlines, cargo details and other shipment related errors. Greeting and assisting walk-in customers with a welcoming smile. My main role as a Customer Service Representative was to handle US Military shipments every week. My objective was to make sure that all the equipment were loaded preciously on given vessel, and cleared by the Dubai Customs. Apart from that, I had to systematically organize vessel data along with the number of containers loaded on the current vessel and provide a weekly report to our team leaders. Providing dangerous cargo stickers based on the hazard level and making sure whether or not the cargo is clear for loading.
Maersk Line, Dubai - Service Counter Agent
As a service counter agent my responsibilities were to issue Original Bills of Lading for both Export and Cross Trade shipments directly to customers. And preparing Delivery Orders for Import shipment or uploading D/O’s on the web for Sharjah shipments. These tasks included tracks the number of containers on the given vessel, calculating the chargers per booking and the demurrage, collecting cash and printing receipts. Apart from this, I had to organize and maintain several files for various types of documents provided by the customer. This required daily attendance and accurate labeling for quick reference in case of any problem. I was appreciated by my superiors for my quick and disciplined method of work. For which I was awarded a token of appreciation by the head of our department and the Chief Executive Office of Maersk Line, Dubai.
