All IT and Communications issues to run a new smart hospital.
As the head of IT department, my main responsibility was to provide technology vision and leadership in the planning, development, and implementation of the hospital's Information and Communications Technology (ICT) strategy and roadmap to support medical, clinical, and business operations and achieve more effective and cost beneficial ICT operations in a safe and secure environment.
Me and my employees in the IT department were responsible for all ICT software and hardware in the hospital including the comprehensive Healthcare Information System (ATS CareWare v.5), document archiving solution (DocuWare v.5 and 6), helpdesk system (ManageEngine ServiceDesk Plus v8.1), automation, and integration software.
We have our own data center, fiber connection, and network spanning two buildings. And we work with third parties to support used systems such as PACS (from NovaRad), medical equipment, telecom, and IP cameras. We also provide professional technical support and data recovery services serving doctors and staff computers, laptops, tablets, and mobiles.
I was in charge of 16 IT professionals working in project management, system analysis, development, quality assurance, graphics and web design, database administration, technical support, and helpdesk.
Then I became the direct manager in charge of EDATA's business partnership in MENA region with the renowned Embarcadero Technologies US-based software house (Borland International/Inprise Technologies).
