Responsibilities:
• Prepare monthly & annual reports in addition to financial statements in a timely and accurate manner.
• Handle all the monthly & annual closing process & procedures.
• Review & approve payment vouchers & journal entries for all Modules (AP, AR, FA, etc…).
• Assist the external auditors to generate annual ZAKAT & Income tax returns & monthly Withholding tax returns.
• Monitoring and interpreting cash flows, analyzing trends, predicting future trends, and advising accordingly.
• Researching and reporting on factors influencing business performance, so that proper financial mechanisms are developed that will minimize financial risk.
• Conducting reviews and evaluations for cost-reduction opportunities.
• Managing the company's budget, financial accounting, monitoring and reporting systems.
• Liaising with auditors to ensure annual monitoring is carried out.
• Developing external relationships with appropriate contacts, e.g. auditors, solicitors, bankers and statutory organizations such as the Inland Revenue.
• Keeping abreast of changes in financial regulations and legislation.
• Generate CDRL reports to U.S. Government related to finance and coordinate with Program Managers.
• Assist the compliance Dept. with the preparation of cost proposals in accordance with PWS/SOW requirements.
• Translate U.S. Government contract funding authorizations from the CLIN and ACRN levels into annual budgeted amounts.
VAT Project
• Building deep understanding of GCC VAT framework and its practical applications.
• Implementing VAT by changing formatting and accounting systems.
• Prepare & submit the monthly VAT returns to the authorities.
• Dealing with VAT authorities & External consultants.
• To keep abreast of current developments relating to VAT and other taxation issues.
• Assessing VAT impacts on different company revenue centers and discussing with clients and staff.
• Managing VAT compliance of various USA and European suppliers.
Finance Asst. Manager Responsibilities:
• Prepare monthly and annual reports as well as financial statements for management review.
• Responsible for day to day finance and accounts operations & transactions review.
• Review & approve payment vouchers & journal entries for all Modules (AP, AR, FA, GA & Taxation).
• Manage detail schedule of closing accounts and finish the closing Procedure within Samsung Electronics specified timeframe.
• Develop and maintain internal control and effective accounting system and policies.
• Reviewing balance sheet accounts in the general ledger to determine if the transactions posted are correct, in the proper accounting period, and evaluated at the proper amount.
• Reconciliation of ledger to sub ledger.
• Analyze inventory to ensure that it is not overstated (Lower of Cost or Market) and that the associated liabilities are not understated.
• Bank Reconciliation process to make necessary adjustments.
• GR/IR Regrouping for in-transit inventories and those inventories for which invoices are yet to be posted.
• FX evaluation for all balance sheet amounts at the balance sheet data (month-end or year-end).
• Transfer long term AR/AP/Prepaid Exp due within one year to short term.
• Amortize the prepaid expense & unearned revenue on monthly basis.
• Review monthly Reconciliation and monthly closing of purchasing & sales transactions between SEEG & HQ or Overseas subsidiaries using ‘Intercompany Reconciliation’.
• Offsetting between Sales & COGS for chargeable subcontractors.
• Manage Royalty contract information and performed simultaneous posting of allowances.
• Closing the balances of temporary accounts.
• Prepare the sales return & warranty estimation calculation process.
Tax Dept. head Responsibilities:
• Responsible for all taxation process & transactions for Samsung Electronics Egypt, review & approve all Tax Returns (VAT, withholding tax, additional tax, payroll tax & corporate income tax) in order to assure the accuracy & timing of submission to the authorities.
• Prepare VAT returns.
• Attend VAT inspections and prepare any required analysis which includes VAT returns, sales and purchases analysis.
• Handle the VAT refund process.
• Follow up the international Tax treaties updates.
• Communicating with company Customs team & Customs Authority to follow up on Company operation documents.
• Tax planning "Health Check Reports" before being investigated by the Tax Authority.
• Comply with SAMSUNG internal Risk Management procedures.
• Calculate the income tax for Korean employee’s expats benefits.
• Handling any tax inspection with the Egyptian authorities.
• Responsible for reporting Taxation updates to the management & HQ.
